Tuvalu only has three universities available for students to apply towards, with the University of South Pacific having well over thousands of students applying and physically going to classes per year.

However, the Maritime Training Institute trains around 150 cadets per academic year. This institution helps students to become seafarers or even ocean merchant shipping employees and employers. As a matter of fact, a number of citizens from Tuvalu have studied at the Maritime Training Institute to pursue a higher career that involves the ocean surrounding the country.

The Maritime Training Institute was established in the year 1978 and is also a public higher education institution. They are open to international students year-round.

Tuvalu Atoll Science Technology Training Institute was established recently in 2017 and as a public college. This higher education haven offers both vocational and technical education options that students what to use to help guide their college career.

For a student who live one their own and is budgeting while living in Tuvalu needs to have at least $1,500 USD per month available to cover utilities, rent, and necessary items. The $1,500 USD amount is to simply live comfortably enough on a month-to-month basis. Now students may be able to spend less while staying at a campus accommodation site.

Tuition fees vary depending on which university the student chooses. Because students will need to budget for a health fee (which can cost around $250), transportation monthly passes, college service fee (comes out to $805), resource development fee (comes to $130), and academic yearly tuition fees can be around $3,000 USD. So, students would need to have around $10,000 available for college costs.

  • Pontifical College Josephinum – expected yearly tuition is estimated around $25,000 USD
  • Pontifical Gregorian University – expected yearly tuition is estimated around € 2.710 for the general diploma of Priesthood and Religious Life Educators. Or € 1.060 for a diploma in Practical Theology: specialization in Family Minister. Then there is € 2.160 for a diploma in Jewish Studies.

On a national average where public universities that are not considered pontifical universities charge an annual average of 40,000 euros per year, the pontifical universities charge half that amount.

Student Cost of Living Per Month

Technically, to be a student of Vatican City a student must be invited to study at one of the universities that’s associated with Vatican City.

However, for a student to live in Rome while studying at one of the pontifical universities would involve probable scholarship that covers most of the accommodation. However, we will create a general overlook of what to expect to pay while living in Rome. Now typical monthly budgeting would consist of a near 800 euros just for general utilities, necessities and transportation passes. This amount does not include rent. To add that 800 euros onto rent, students need to expect to pay around 1,500-3,000 euros per month.

Languages Spoken in Vatican City

What languages are spoken in Vatican City? The two main languages spoken are Latin and Italian. It would be best if the international student looking to attend a university in Vatican City, knew both basic forms of Latin and Italian.

However, Vatican City has many languages spoken daily and as well with the main newspaper which is published in Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Hindi, Hungarian, Malayalam, Macedonian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish, and many more.

Study in Tonga

Tonga has many universities available for both domestic and international students who wish to pursue a higher education in their desired study field. Students that are working on their missions for a different church outside of Tonga may be able to secure a college scholarship through the church.

Student Cost of Living in Tonga

In Tonga an apartment or rent on a monthly basis involves Pa’anga 2,000 or an average of $856 USD. That is just for rent. For a monthly budget, it would be best of student’s budget for $1,500 or $2,000 USD to live incredibly comfortably. This also involves fully furnished.

Without a fully furnished apartment, students can expect to pay on the lesser end that comes to around Pa’anga 400 or $171 USD for a monthly rent budget.

However, to rent in an expensive area with a small apartment students can expect to send the same amount for an apartment that was outside of the main center region that was fully furnished. So around $856 USD.

Cost of Academic Tuition on a Yearly Basis in Tonga

Tonga is extremely affordable when working towards a higher education and an academic education. For one university a student may spend only $650 USD for a single academic year. Primarily there is not too much information on Tonga because they are still creating a great higher education system where it’s affordable to everyone.

What Main Languages Are Spoken in Tonga

The main languages spoken in Tonga are Tongan and English. While these are not the only two main languages spoken throughout the country, there are many other dialects spoken throughout Tonga. For international students to gain a better understanding on the Tongan language it’s that the dialects involving Tui (Uvean), Niuean, Hawaiian, and Polynesian are more closely related with Wallisian (Uvean), Niuean, Hawaiian, and Polynesian. Tonga is a Austronesian language with a Polynesian branch language dialect.
