The Global Excellence Scholarship at the University of Western Australia 2021-2022 is now open for students all over the world. This scholarship program only allows Masters and PhD level program(s) into the field of some selected programs taught at the University of Western Australia.

The purpose of the scholarship by the Global Excellence scholarship is to encourage and assist eligible high-achieving international students to commence and pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification at the University.

Scholarship Description:

The Scholarship scheme named Hilary Jolly Memorial Scholarship is mainly for Domestic, NZ PR holders general Citizens, and international student in New Zealand; good news is the 2021 session is now open for International Students. The scholarship allows Masters level program in the field of Fresh Water Ecology which is taught at University of Waikato.

Degree Level:

Hilary Jolly Memorial Scholarship 2021 New Zealand is available to undertake Masters level programs at the University of Waikato.

The following subject are available to study under this scholarship program by interested candidates.

  • Fresh Water Ecology

Scholarship Benefits:

  • The value of the Scholarship will be up to $10,000 and will have a tenure of 1 year;
  • The Scholarship will be paid in two equal instalments, the first upon confirmed enrolment in the approved programme of study (see clause 1.1), and the second approximately six months later (conditional on satisfactory academic performance).

  • The Scholarship is only open to New Zealand Citizens, Permanent Residents and international students.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must:

  • be enrolled or enrolling full time in an MSc(Research) or an MSc at the University of Waikato; and
  • be undertaking research in the field of freshwater ecology in New Zealand.
  • The Scholarship is open to New Zealand Citizens, Permanent Residents and international students.

Application Procedure:

The closing date for applications is 15 May each year. Along with the prescribed application form, each candidates must submit:

  •  a brief outline (300-400 words) of the proposed research topic;
  • a personal statement (using the template) that provides:
  • details of any promotion or past research activities, such as seminars or conference presentations;
  • any publications (if applicable);
  • future study/career plans
  • a summary of any past or present work/employment history other than casual or part-time positions; and
  • a summary of any special circumstance considered relevant to the application; and,
  • A brief CV (no more than four A4 pages)

Other Conditions

  • The Scholarship may be held together with any scholarship, award, prize or student allowance, unless the conditions of the other award preclude this. Applicants should advise the School of Graduate Research of any additional awards/funding they receive during the tenure of the Scholarship.
  • . In accepting the Scholarship, the recipient will be deemed to have read, understood, and accepted the conditions of the Scholarship and the Scholarships Policy.
  • . The Scholarships Committee has the power to amend or vary these regulations provided that there is no departure from the main purpose of the Scholarship.
  • . The Scholarships Committee may terminate this Scholarship at any time, and recoup any balance from any awardee.
  • . By accepting an award, the recipient agrees to participate in any publicity concerning the award arranged by the University of Waikato or Sponsor in consultation with the other.

€14,400 per year from DAAD Scholarships in Germany, 2021

The DAAD scholarship is basically for anyone anywhere in the world who wishes to carry out research (i.e. Maters’ or Doctoral Studies) in Germany. Over 100,000 (one hundred thousand) Germans, researchers and international graduate students from across the globe are being funded and supported every year; making DAAD scholarship the world’s largest scholarship funding organisation. DAAD typically awards Research funding in specific area of studies; Short-Term Grants for PhD students; Postdoctoral fellows are also availed with sizeable Research grant for a 1-year term. There is also availability of one-Year Grants for Doctoral Candidates from virtually any country on the planet. For a language course in Germany, you can apply to the University Summer Courses and University Winter Courses programmes. A grant for a full doctoral programme in Germany is offered primarily to applicants from developing and threshold countries (based on the OECD-DAC list). Scholarships for a Master’s degree in Germany are available, in particular, for persons from industrial countries.

Scholarship Value / Benefits

– A monthly stipend (scholarship payment) for all awardees. 861 for graduates and € 1,200 for doctoral/PhD students.

– A one-way Airfare, from the awardee country of origin to Germany. The Airfare allowance is usually a flat-rate travel allowance i.e. every awardee regardless of their country of origin get the same travel allowance.

– DAAD also provides awardees with health, accident and personal liability insurance. In some cases though.

– Depending on scholarship programme, there are also additional benefits such as a one-off research allowance, family benefits or funds for language courses. The benefits offered by the respective scholarship programme are described in the call for applications in the scholarship database.

The DAAD scholarship is a financial aid that does not have to be paid back.

– In some cases, allowance is given for accompanying family members.

– Monthly rent subsidy.

            Also available under the DAAD scholarship scheme is the Sur-Place and Third world Country programmes. This programmes allow awardees to complete their Masters’ or Doctoral studies in their countries of origin; while funding them maximally.

You are eligible if:

  • You have completed your first degree or your Bachelor’s program as at the time of the commencement of the award and course term.
  • You have excellent Academic standing; depending on your school and program of choice.

Scholarship Duration

  • Maximum of 2 years (24 months) funding for all Masters’ program scholarship. If you’re already in Germany in the first year of your program, then the scholarship might be available for the second year. Not extendable.
  • between 10 and 24 months depending on the length of the chosen study programme
  • The scholarships are awarded for the duration of the standard period of study for the chosen study programme (up to a maximum of 24 months).

Eiffel Excellence Scholarship

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship is an Educational innovation of the Government of France. When the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs felt the necessity to attract more top foreign Higher Degree (Masters’, PhD) students; the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship was swiftly birthed. This scheme basically gives top foreign students with huge Leadership and Industry potential the opportunity to pursue their Masters’ and PhD degrees in France on a full-scale scholarship. This scheme is one of the commonest scholarship schemes to Europeans.

For the Masters’ level, the maximum age for each applicant is 30 for a duration between 12 and 36 months (i.e. all awardees must complete their program within 3 years), while for the PhD level, the maximum age is 35 for a duration of 12 months in France (a joint college program in most cases).

The Eiffel Excellence scholarships are only available for applicants in the following four (4) fields of study;

  1. Economics and Management
  2. Political Science
  3. Law studies
  4. Engineering sciences at the master’s level, Science in a broad sense at the Ph.D. level (engineering sciences; exact sciences: mathematics, physics, chemistry, and life sciences, nano, and biotechnology, earth sciences, sciences of the universe, environmental sciences, information, and communication science and technology)

Are you Eligible?

            To prove your eligibility, you need to comply with the following criteria.

  • Application source: only applications submitted by French educational institutions are accepted. These institutions commit to enrolling scholarship holders on the academic program for which they have been selected. Applications submitted by any other means shall not be considered. Furthermore, any candidate nominated by more than one institution shall be disqualified. In a nutshell, applicants are expected to apply to just one school of their choice. The school then nominates to the Scholarship board.
  • Nationality: This scholarship scheme is strictly for Foreigners as far as the French citizens are allowed. This program is reserved for non-French nationals. Candidates with two nationalities, one of which is French, are not eligible.
  • Age: for the master’s level, candidates must be no older than 30 on the date of 2020. The campaign, that is, students born after March 1989. At the Ph.D. level, candidates must be no older than 35 on the date of the 2021 Campaign, that is, students born after March 1984.

Scholarship Value and Benefits

  • A maintenance allowance of 1,083 Euros and a monthly stipend of 150 Euros for Masters’ degree Awardee, while, for a PhD awardee it is a total of 1400 Euros monthly allowance.
  • Local and National Transport allowance from airport to location of study and from location of study back to the airport at the end of the program.
  • Health insurance by Campus France, for the time needed to register to French Social Security, for students from outside of the European Economic Area (EEA); Mutual health insurance
