Mogadishu University is offering up its MU Scholarship Program to eligible students that fit the required criteria. The higher education center has an incredible history that is celebrating its 25th year during the 2022/2023 academic year. This proved to be a joyous occasion based on the original establishment date of Mogadishu’s beginning.

Because of the university’s anniversary, they are offering both full-ride and partial scholarships to students.
Since there are many scholarships available we will cover a few of those below.
These scholarships are available as a full tuition coverage scholarship opportunity:
– Arabic language & Islamic Studies
– History& Geography
– English Language & History
– English Language & Geography
– Journalism & Media Studies
– Math & Physics
– Biology & Chemistry
– Social Work
These scholarships below are available as partial which covers 50% of the student’s tuition coverage:
- Faculty of Agriculture
- Faculty of Veterinary
- Faculty of Engineering – Electrical engineering
- Faculty of Dentistry

- Institute of Somali Studies
- Center for Research and Development
- Somali Center for Water & Environment

Eligibility
- Eligible students will need to apply for the program they wish and show that they do need excess help financially. This scholarship is determined as a financial-base or needed opportunity.
- Students that do intend to apply for this scholarship option, must not have received funding such as another scholarship or a grant elsewhere at a different higher education institution.
- Eligible students must first be accepted into Mogadishu University before applying for this scholarship. If the student applies and it not a registered student they will have their submission ignored or dismissed.
- This scholarship is meant to be pursued on-campus and in person. This is not a scholarship for online distance learning.
- Students who are citizens of Somalia are the only acceptable and eligible students for this scholarship option.
Requirements
The biggest requirement asked of students at this university after becoming a recipient of a scholarship, is that they must follow all of the rules that are instated via winning.
Another aspect is that students must be enrolled beforehand, otherwise this is the first rule that is broken. So students must apply to go to the university first.
How to Apply
The first step to applying is by first becoming a student of the university. Since this scholarship is considered an entrance scholarship, students should become students first. Afterwards, they will be able to fill out the form about what their financial situation is like and submit their information.
Students should look for the undergraduate submission section to understand how to apply to become a student at the university. Described on the undergraduate page is the beginning of the online submissions to accepting external transfers.
Student Visa
Only students that are citizens of Somalia may apply for this scholarship opportunity. This means a student visa is not needed since this is not for international students to apply towards.

The rewards for this can extend past the standard $1,000 USD based on the students financial situation. The university’s motto is that of helping students to achieve their highest grade and excel in their ideal career. Deadline Time Line
The deadline timeline has already surpassed for the 2022 academic year. Instead students will see that the next deadline date is September 3, 2023. This does allow students ample time to figure out what program will would prefer to study.

Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submission window is the same as the undergraduate admissions process. In this case, that date was July 15, 2023. Which means Somalian students will have to wait until 2022 has commenced before being able to submit their application.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
This is not considered an annual scholarship because this is the first both full and partial scholarships for this current anniversary. This is no information about this scholarship becoming annual. This is also not a renewable scholarship option for students once they have become recipients once.
