About Davis Putter Scholarship Fund

Davis-Putter Scholarships support students who are working hard for justice and peace. These need-based scholarships are awarded to those who can do college-level academic work and who are part of the progressive movement on their campuses and in their communities.

All of our funds come from the contributions of individual donors; there are no donations. The Fund relies entirely on the generosity of people like you to support a new generation of progressive students.

The number of grants we can make and the size of each grant is directly related to the financial support we receive each year. The maximum grant available from the Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund is $10,000 per year (July 1-June 30).

Grants are disbursed to cover each separate semester, quarter, or period during which the grantee is in school.

Davis Putter Scholarship Fund Eligibility

Applicants must reside in the US and plan to enroll (or already be attending) in a US college, university, or graduate school, for credit, in order to apply. Financial need is a consideration, and candidates will be asked to provide evidence of need on their applications.

The first and most important qualification for a Davis-Putter Scholarship is active participation in struggles for civil rights, economic justice, international solidarity, or other progressive issues. There is also a strong preference for grantees who plan to stay in the US to work on these subjects after completing their studies.

The Daniels Scholarship Program is a very exciting and ambitious program that provides the opportunity to pursue a four-year college education at any accredited nonprofit college or university in the United States.

The program offers resources, encouragement, and inspiration far beyond the financial assistance needed to earn a college degree. Provides an annual renewable four-year college scholarship for high school graduates who demonstrate exceptional character, leadership, and a commitment to serving their own communities.

Daniels Scholarships are renewable annually up to a maximum of four academic years (8 semesters or 12 quarters).

The Daniels Fund, established by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, is a private charitable foundation dedicated to improving the lives of the people of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming through its scholarship program, scholarship program, and ethical initiative.

Scholarship Voucher

The Daniels Scholarship Program is a comprehensive college scholarship that pays tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and miscellaneous educational expenses.
It is a supplemental or “bottom dollar” scholarship and is therefore secondary to all other grants and scholarships awarded to the scholar. After considering the other scholarships, the student’s financial aid (federal, state, and institutional), and any work or study they accept, as well as the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) determined by the federal government, the Daniels Fund will pay the remaining costs of The Scholar’s Education.
The scholarship amount is unique to each Daniels Scholar and may vary from year to year.

Daniels Scholarship 2022 Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Daniels Scholarship Program, students must meet the following requirements at the time of application:

Demonstrate financial need
Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
Be a resident of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming
Be a high school student graduating from a school in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming
Earn ACT scores of at least 17 in each category (Math, English, Reading, Science) or any SAT Math score of at least 400 and Critical Reading score of at least 440. Writing scores are not required. All test scores must come from a single test and must be submitted by the application deadline. The super score is not accepted.
