Scotland is home to some of the oldest known universities in the world, so that makes the University of St. Andrew no different. The establishment date is 1413. Students will need to secure a student visa to study in Scotland and must acquire an acceptance letter from the university before applying for a student visa. Eligibility
- This scholarship is based on financial needs. Applicants that are interested need to provide proof of the family annual income that is below the necessary means.
- This scholarship is open to all international students outside of the European Union.
- Applicants must be working on their undergraduate status once they apply.
- All study fields are applicable, there is no one study subject that will have priority over the other.
- This is only open to students who are looking to apply for their first year of college in 2023.

Required documents needed should be:
- Annual financial household income – which means employment papers, wage receipts, and salary statements.
- Confirmation letters from department of work
- All tax credits
- PIP
- DLA
- Dividends
- Pension payments
- Letter of recommendation from the local or community government
- Any e-statements that are part of the above mentioned documents
- Bank statements must be provided as scanned copies

How to Apply
When applying, students will apply online trough the online portal that is available on the original website which is linked to this article. This online application portal is available on the “apply” button but will reopen when the open submission window time frame comes around for the 2023 student class.
Students must first apply for their chosen program. Access to this application is under the ‘scholarships and funding’ within the ‘My Application’ section. Students will need to wait two working days to receive the go ahead when they sign up for an account on the University of St. Andrews website.
Reward – Extra Benefits
Applicants that become the recipients of this award will receive a stipend of 10,000 EUR for a full academic year.
The 10,000 EUR will go directly to paying tuition or left over tuition fees. There is no alternative for the 10,000 EUR to be spent by the student. This is strictly a scholarship award that aims to lower the tuition fees for a financial needs student.
If the amount is used for anything else the student may have to give up the scholarship opportunity and pay back a portion of percentage of the amount received.
Deadline Time Line
The deadline date is a set date for March 3, 2023. There is no mention of extension or allowing students to apply at a later date. Since this is an international deadline, that means all countries must follow the same date in accordance with the University of St. Andrews.
Students can apply for this scholarship right after they send in their admissions to the University of St. Andrews. This is preferred so the student does not wait any longer to submit a full and complete application.

Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submission window time frame begins on October 2022. From this point students can submit their application until the deadline date of March 3, 2023.
In May of 2022 is the time when students will hear if they have been accepted to the university. Students will be notified through their “my application’ portal on the original website.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
This is an annual scholarship but it cannot be renewed for the next year. Students will need to apply for a different scholarship for their second year in academics.
