Scholarship details
To enable the international students to further their education on cancer research, the Union for International Cancer Control is proud to introduce a scholarship for the academic year of 2021-2022, the Yamagiwa-Yoshida Memorial International Cancer Study Grants. The study grants will be providing a good opportunity for international students to advance their careers in cancer research in an international collaborative way. Researchers, clinicians, students, public health professionals, and epidemiologists are encouraged to joining the scholarship grants.
The International Cancer Control located in Switzerland is a non-government organization that aims to support the cancer community to help the country reduces the people with cancers and their burdens, they are striving to help in controlling cancer. For international students or professionals who would like to study in Switzerland, this is a good opportunity that will be able to advance your career and experience a top-quality education in research opportunities.
Eligibility
All international students who are currently residing or applying in any international country will be eligible to apply for the student grant. The students who will be admitted to an accredited university must be enrolled in cancer research studies and have been active in a cancer research program.
Application Process
The international students are all required in any university and in the same process of application. The candidates for the grants must be able to log in to the scholarship portal. All applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- Bio-sketch of the student or applicant
- The home supervisor’s attestation on a headed paper
- Host attestation hand signed
- Letter of Invitation with hand-signed on a headed paper od the host supervisor
- One page resume and must be related to the project activities
- Students project-related publications
- Host supervisors public related publication
The scholarship grant will be targeting most especially the researchers, public health professionals, and other students who are studying in related to the cancer research programs.
Grant Awards
The deserving international students will be awarded financial assistance towards their education amounting to up to $10,000 that will help them covering their research plan at a university of their choice. Eight deserving international students will be awarded by the UICC. The student’s grants will be up to three months with the secure funds by the fellow and from other sponsor sources.
All deserving students will be notified through their email and results will be posted on the official International Cancer Control page.
Application Deadline
The deadline of application for the Yamagiwa-Yoshida Memorial International Cancer Study Grants is until December 21, 2021, and will be offered annually by the Union for International Cancer Control.
