Scholarship details
The University of Queensland in Australia is looking for international students to join their School of Biological Sciences center. This institution is known for world class and high ranking researchers and scientists, a few who work for the Australian government and four well known global scientists.
The four world ranked areas are:
- Marine and Freshwater Biology
- Ecology
- Biodiversity Conservation
- Environmental Sciences
The School of Biological Sciences works with students to help build their market skill research while maintaining applied work with laboratory biology. The school combines field-work, work study, and in laboratory research projects. This will allow students to better understand and build a career that will not only take them quite far, but with over 100 factually members dedicated to biology… students who are admitted will be invited to one of the top five science institutions.
Main study areas include, Agriculture and animal sciences, Environment, Science and mathematics. Out of the typically college credits for AP classes, students will need to have a 4.0 in at least five AP classes when applying for this international scholarship.
All applicants need to know the extent of this competitive scholarship. Not only is this an international competition but annually, only 25% of students are accepted and receive an invitation to apply.

When it comes to coursework scholarships… these are the top three things that will be judged:
- How well a student satisfies the criteria
- How a student’s personal circumstances demonstrate their need for the scholarship
- A student’s passion for the subject area the scholarship aims to advance
It is also stated that students should follow the guideline word for word. This panel of judges (the Head Master of Queensland University will be grading each application) ask each applicant to carefully read through the rules and understand that the application should contain exactly what is asked.
Also, students should use correct grammar and polite language. There should be no slang or abbreviated terms in the application.
Eligibility
- The most important rule for this scholarship is that this is for international students only. No domestic student or students that hold a citizenship in Australia or New Zealand can apply.
- Students that apply will need to show that they have an outstanding grade point average. For this scholarship anything above 3.8 is most desired, but a 4.0 would almost guarantee a student in becoming a recipient.
- Both male and female students can apply and can be from any country when applying.
- Students that do apply should have an e-mail or an acceptance letter to The University of Queensland before applying for this international scholarship.
- The student must have received admission into the School of Biological Sciences #24 Master of Conservation Biology program and #32 Master of Conservation Science.
- Students need to show their academic merit work from prior grades and undergraduate work.
Requirements
For anyone that applies, they must understand that this is a highly competitive international scholarship. Only students that have the best grade point averages in the world will be chosen to receive the immense benefits of this reward.
The main criteria area that the panel of judges will grade and review each application will be based on academic achievement. This means that anyone applying should put their best grade forward, along with any successful research or project proposals.

Reward – Extra Benefits
When it comes to keeping this scholarship, every recipient is required to entire a full-time term academic year. This means, a part-time student does not qualify for this position.
The total reward is $10,000 which will be split into two installments which will only go towards tuition and any program fees. The $10,000 will be split into $5,000 and paid at the beginning of the academic year (first semester) and during the second part of the year (second semester).
However, if a student decides to stop the scholarship and the program, if there has been any use of the reward amount the student will have to pay back what has been used.

Students do have the opportunity to save their application and come back to edit or add anything that may be missing. That is if a student does not have their transcripts yet, they can go ahead and fill out the scholarship form and then wait until they receive the rest of their official information… that is before the deadline time is up.
Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submission window time frame has been open since December 1, 2022. This means students have from December 2021 – April 2022 to completely submit their application form. This also means students have enough time to prepare for next year the 2022-2023 academic year if they wish to submit an application then.
