Scholarship details
For the academic year of 2022-2023, Dalhousie University offers the Killam Predoctoral Scholarships that cover the student’s study expenses. The scholarship is a financial aid position that will help deserving international students to fulfill their education and be awarded on a competitive basis in thesis-based programs. Eligibility
All international and local students are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The students must meet the required criteria for the scholarship.
Criteria for eligibility:
- The scholarship award offered by Dalhousie University is open to both International and Canadian students.
- All applicants are required or will be expected to also apply for the funding of relevant national, provincial, or international agencies. For the Canadian or local students, this may include NSHRF, NSGS, CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC depending on their discipline. For the international students, they are all expected to have applied in their provincial scholarships such as NSGS, etc, and the national or international awards in which they may be eligible for this award.
- The deserving students who will be the holder of the Killam Predoctoral Scholarship must be eligible to receive the war for at least two years and willing to study at the university for the duration of the scholarship.
Application Process
Interested students may complete their applications through an online portal provided by the university. The application form must be printed and completed. All students are required to submit supporting documents along with their application such as:
- Transcript of Records
- Reference Letter
Students must be holding a four years bachelor’s degree and or master’s degree for the doctoral students, with a GPA of 3.0 and have a good academic record. The international students whose first language is not the English language are required to submit test scores.
Scholarship Awards
The deserving students will be awarded up to $10,000 and an accommodation allowance.
The deadline for application is until January 15, 2022. The scholarship will be offered annually.
