About the Mott Foundation Scholarship
The John R. Mott Scholarship Foundation (The Foundation) is working in the Italian region where its namesake was born and from which he and his parents immigrated. The Mott Scholarship Foundation offers essential scholarships for youth from the Calabria region, the cradle of many Italian-Americans.”
According to the Mott Foundation website, “Few communities in the United States have fulfilled the promise of the American dream better than Italian Americans, and their beginnings were modest: many first-generation Italian Americans left Italy with little more than their clothes and clothing. Once there, they worked hard and made great sacrifices to improve their lives and the lives of their children.
Today, just a few generations from the beginning, the Italian-American community has grown and developed far beyond what their ancestors could have dreamed of.

What is the Mott Foundation? Is the scholarship worth it?
Scholarships of up to $10,000 per year are awarded. Scholarships are awarded every year. Scholars must reapply each year and may receive scholarships for a total of four years each year.
There is no guarantee of assignment for subsequent years, although recipients who are serious about their educational opportunities are preferred.
How do I apply for the 2023 Mott Scholarships??
To apply, you must register and create an ‘account’. Once the account is created, you will receive an email with your ‘username’ (username) and ‘password’. Use the link below to log in and complete the scholarship application.
When is the application deadline for Mott Scholarships 2023?
The application portal is reopened every February. However, interested candidates must submit their applications annually on or before April 15.
Applicants must also annually upload original documents that the foundation has accepted on or before April 25.

The amount of each scholarship per year depends on the student’s eligibility, which is determined by the student’s results.
Basically, the Pell Grant is offered based on full-time status, which is 12 or more credits, and will automatically adjust based on the actual credit hours of enrollment.

Pell Grants are disbursed directly to the school and then offered as a credit to the student’s account or directly to them by cash, check, or EFT.
The SEOG award is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, the grant is awarded at the discretion of the FA office and is subject to change. Students must meet the required academic performance to be eligible for the offer.
Priority will be given to students who meet the following criteria:
> Pell Eligible
> No other sources of tuition
aid awarded > SEOG will receive a maximum of $1,000.
Since school fees have been paid, if you receive other financial aid, such as scholarships and loans, you may have money left over.
However, Pell funds go directly to the college or university you attend, so the school will reimburse you for any remaining money.
