Scholarship details
The Nordstrom Scholarship is awarded to high school juniors to relieve students and their parents of the burden of rising tuition for their college. This scholarship is awarded as a way to give back to your community. It is administered to students who are residents of states where Nordstrom stores operate.
Successful students get as much as $10,000 towards their college expenses. Every year through 40, students receive a scholarship.

Host Nationality
The Nordstrom Scholarship is offered by Nordstrom Inc., a leading clothing retailer in the United States.
This scholarship was first awarded in 1994 to high school students living in states where Nordstrom has a full-line store. The scholarship was awarded according to the student’s academic achievements, in addition to their extracurricular and community activities.
Eligible Nationality
Students who live in these 31 US states where Nordstrom stores are located are eligible: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Md., Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.
How to apply?
Applicants to the Nordstrom Scholarship Program must write an essay and submit it to Nordstrom. This essay varies slightly from year to year. Semifinalists are then chosen and are required to submit letters of recommendation from their teacher at their high school.
Students who are selected as finalists will be required to have an interview with a predetermined selection committee. The committee is made up of business leaders, educators, community leaders, and several Nordstrom representatives.
Eligibility
Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for the Nordstrom Scholarship:
- Being a high school student
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 (unweighted) on a 4.0 scale from grades 9-11.
- Plan for and be eligible to attend a 4-year accredited university or college in the US.
- Engage in volunteer, community, and extracurricular activities.
- Plan for applying for financial aid to attend college
- Have no conviction for any crime.
Scholarship Voucher
Nordstrom Scholarship awards selected candidates as much as $10,000 for their college education. This scholarship fund is awarded to a range of successful students from 40 to 80.
Funds are paid directly to the 4-year university where the student is registered. The payment obligations were set to be delivered in equal installments over a period of four years. Nordstrom initially used social media marketing and other Internet marketing venues to engage with students, but printable kits for high school staff were also offered.
Scholarship deadline
Unfortunately, the Nordstrom Scholarship Program ended in 2016, and Nordstrom Inc. has yet to start new programs and applications for it.
