Scholarship details
This scholarship is open to US citizens who are enrolled in a full-time postgraduate research degree program. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must have applied for a course at a university in the Faculty of Humanities or Social Sciences. By working with the 2nd Air Division Memorial Trust’s American Library at Norfolk and Norwich’s Millennium Library, the chosen candidate will be expected to contribute to their work. A weekly time commitment of around 8 hours is required of all candidates.

Professor Sir Kazuo Ishiguro, a well-known English novelist, short-story writer, and filmmaker who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017 for his work, is a graduate of the University of East Anglia. Another famous alumnus of the university is Gurinder Chadha, a popular English film director best known for films such as Bend It Like Beckham and Bride and Prejudice. She is also a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Directors. Others who have received the Nobel Prize from the University of East Anglia include Neel Mukherjee, Joanna Coles (Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan), Dame Jenny Abramsky (BBC Executive), Tim Lenton (a Climate Scientist), Anil Baijal (Delhi’s current Lieutenant Governor), Adam Shareef (Maldives’ current Defense Minister), Joseph Greenwell (CEO of Jaguar Land Rover), and Sir Paul Nurse (an English geneticist)
