The Arrell Food Institute Scholarships are now open for applicants, and the University of Guelph is glad to receive applications from appropriately qualified candidates. Students who will be attending graduate school full-time are eligible to apply for this opportunity.

Scholarships to the value of $50,000 per year are offered by the Arrell Food Institute to students pursuing degrees at the PhD and master’s level in order to encourage research that is centered on agriculture and food.

Scholarship Offer:

  • The scholarship will only cover their education costs if they remain within the parameters of the initial award duration (for example, master’s level for a total of 6 semesters for a total of $100,000, payable in installments of $16,667 per tri-semester period or $50,000 per year). The individuals who are awarded scholarships from the Arrell Food Institute will be referred to as the Arrell Scholars.

 

The Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship is administered by the University of Oslo’s Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). As part of the visiting scholar program, CEMO and the University of Oslo host a number of young researchers from Norway and elsewhere each year.

 

Eligibility for Scholarship.

  • In order to be considered for scholarships offered by the Arrell Food Institute at the University of Guelph, applicants are expected to fulfill the following requirements:
  • Applicants must be current college students either in their own country or abroad.
  • Applicants are required to be candidates for the doctorate and master’s level programs.
  • Applicants are required to be enrolled in a degree program at a full-time level.
  • Applicants for graduate programs in the autumn semester following the application deadline who have a minimum admissions average of A- will be considered for admission.
  • Applicants whose work is in line with the objectives of the Arrell Food Institut

If a student enrolls in one of the degree programs offered by SOAS University of London, they may be eligible to receive a fee waiver award in the amount of £5,000. This award is available to students who are interested in receiving a degree from SOAS University of London.

  • Please submit an application for admission to an eligible graduate program at the University of Guelph. A complete application (which includes a statement of research and personal motivation, a letter of support from a prospective Guelph supervisor, and a CV) must be submitted to the Office of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies by the annual deadline of March 5th.
