The Barclays Bank F. G. Mogae Scholarship Fund which was established in 2008, has allowed many Botswana students to attend the University of Botswana. This scholarship was created to help Botswana students to achieve their higher education dreams. Along with helping Botswana students to move further with their careers after they graduate college.
In a wonderful turn of events, the Barclays Bank F.G. Mogae Scholarship has raised and earned funding from private donations that have raised R210 million.
The subject fields that are awarded this scholarship include:

- environmental science
- wildlife management
- economics
- archives and records management
- human resource management
Students that are studying different subject fields may be able to receive this award since this scholarship is based on merit.

- Only students that are or who will be attending the University of Botswana are eligible for this scholarship.
- Students must send in an admission to apply to attend Botswana University.
- Students that are chosen for this scholarship will be the top high-grade students, who show leadership skills.
- This is for students moving on to achieve their Master’s degree, this can include transfer students that are citizens of Botswana.
- Students must have successfully and passed their Bachelor’s level to receive their Bachelor’s degree.
- A student can be a citizen of Botswana, but was attending a different college and decided to transfer to the University of Botswana.
- Students will need to share their transcripts and grades to prove they have the academic skills for this scholarship option.
Requirements
A few of the top requirements is that the top 10 students must be the most academically inclined at the University of Botswana. Luckily students that have an excellent academic record have an 90% chance of winning this merit-based scholarship award.

Reward – Extra Awards
There will be about 10 students who are chosen to receive the top prize to help them progressively move closer to their Master’s degree.
Just under $1,200 USD will be gifted to each of the 10 students who can use this amount for tuition and accommodation payment.
The reward amount will not be in USD it will be in Botswana Pula.
Student Visa
There is no student visa needed since this scholarship opportunity is just for Botswana citizens. This means that international students are not suggested to apply since this scholarship will not be awarded if they are an international student.
