Any previous charges that have been used when the student was attending, will not be refunded.
If a student was on a tuition payment plan, that student is not deemed eligible for a refund. Also, any transfer student or international/domestic student that has paid their initial deposit to secure a seat for their admission will also not be refunded.
Eligibility
- The perfect candidate will have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Students with 4.0 will have a higher chance of winning or being chosen for this scholarship option.
- Students that are from the United States, Canada, Caribbean, the United Kingdom, Asian-sub continent, or Africa are very eligible to apply.
- The age requirement for this scholarship is 19 years old.
- Qualified students must have a high school diploma.
- All students must take an English proficiency exam.
- Any student with Advanced Placement English and English Baccalaureate certification is considered eligible.
- Mainly for students that are working towards a medical or pre-medical degree.
- This scholarship is classified as an international scholarship opportunity.
Requirements
A huge requirement is to have excellent grades. This is important to the university selection board.
The main candidates that are working towards a medical degree would be a great higher priority.
How to Apply
The only way to apply is by applying through the American University online portal. This way students can fill out the application form to submit to the admissions facility in the American University of Barbados.
Students must show their high school graduation certificate plus transcripts. High grades are important for this scholarship committee.
Reward – Extra Benefits
This $12,000 reward amount is split into semesters settings. The full break down when it comes to the pre-medical semesters.
1st Semester – $5,500
2nd – $5,500
3rd – $5,500
4th – $5,500
$12,000 in reward for covering tuition would cover not only 2 full years of tuition but a portion of the 3rd year.
Afterwards students can apply for a scholarship to gain access to extended scholarship funding.
Deadline Time Line
The deadline of this application process is not later than January 2, 2023. There is a possible extension window for students that would allow for exactly 1 week for that student to send in their document information.
Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submission window time frame follows the same admissions open window time frame. Students should send in their admissions application and scholarship application before January 2, 2023.

Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
