Scholarship Eligibility
Before proceeding with the application, the students must meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship.
- The applicant must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person. Visa students are not eligible.
- The applicant must be an Alberta resident, and meet one of the following conditions:
- One of the applicant’s parents or legal guardians has maintained permanent residency in Canada for at least 12 consecutive months immediately prior to the applicant’s post-secondary studies and is currently residing in Alberta.
- Alberta is the last place where the applicant has lived for 12 consecutive months immediately before commencing post-secondary studies.
- The applicant’s spouse/partner has maintained permanent residency in Alberta for 12 consecutive months prior to the applicant’s attendance at post-secondary.
- The applicant must be admitted or enrolled in the first year of study in a Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta or the University of Calgary.
- The applicant must be enrolled in full-time post-secondary education.
Keep in mind that if a recipient withdraws from their studies or changes from full-time to part-time before the award payment, they will become ineligible to receive the award.
Application Process
The application can be accessed in an online portal provided by Alberta Students Aid, It is important that the applicants must check the admission process of the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary.
- The applicants will be required to provide personal information, including their address, phone number, email address, birth date, and gender. Additionally, you may be asked to provide your Social Insurance Number and Alberta Student Number to help identify you and ensure your eligibility for programs and funding.
- As part of the application process, you will also need to provide information about your academic and financial situation. This may include details such as your program length, start and end dates, and your student ID number (if known)
- You will also be asked to provide financial information, such as the amount of money you will receive from your parents or other sources, the value of any awards you will receive, and your expected reduced yearly income while you are in school.
