Through the African Real Estate Society (AfRES), the University of Reading is granting one complete fee waiver to an African student for one of the Real Estate & Planning postgraduate degrees 2022/2023.

Before applying for a scholarship, students must have an offer to pursue one of the Real Estate & Planning postgraduate degrees at the University of Reading.

Reading university housing is safe and secure, and rent prices are all-inclusive, which means that utility bills and wifi are included. More than 5,000 rooms are available in university-owned halls of residence, and all are located on or within a 15-minute walk of the main Whiteknights or London Road campuses. Rooms are provided in a number of types and sizes, including studios, rooms in catered halls, self-catered en-suites, and shared bathrooms, as well as a variety of study, domestic, and social amenities. Reading, located on the River Thames between London and Oxford, is a historic town with a population of 163,000 people. The town is located in the south-east of England and is easily accessible from Heathrow and Gatwick airports in London. For international students whose qualifications are not equivalent to A levels and hence do not match the University’s regular undergraduate entry requirements, the University provides an International Foundation Programme. It also provides pre-sessional English classes to help international students prepare for academic studies in England. With two indoor shopping malls – the Oracle and Broad Street Mall – Reading has lots of high street favorites including TK Maxx, Hotel Chocolat, Next, John Lewis, and Marks and Spencer, as well as a plethora of smaller independent businesses waiting to be discovered in its many side streets and arcades Reading is teeming with restaurants, with something to suit every taste and budget. In the evening, the Oracle shopping center’s Riverside area is a busy location, with a broad mix of restaurants and pubs overlooking the lake, as well as a 10-screen cinema. Almost every night of the week, there is a new student event, ranging from clubs, gigs, and rock nights to live global music, salsa dancing, and comedy evenings. Reading’s award-winning Whiteknights campus has a welcoming community feel and abundance of open space. It’s a place where you may meet new individuals from all around the world and form lifelong friendships. We also have a global presence, with Henley Business School (South Africa) in Johannesburg and the University of Reading Malaysia in Iskandar, in addition to our Whiteknights and London Road campuses in Reading and Henley Business School at our Greenlands campus in Henley-upon-Thames.

From the moment you arrive in Reading, you can begin preparing for your future profession. Our Careers Service provides individual advice and support during your studies, as well as a variety of workshops and activities to assist you in finding part-time work, volunteer opportunities, and graduate roles. This emphasis on employability contributes to our graduates’ success: 94% of our taught postgraduates are in job or further study within six months of graduation. More than 95 percent of those working full-time are in professional or management employment (Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education study, 2016/17 leavers). The Oracle has wonderful shopping, plenty of open spaces to relax in, and a wide variety of restaurants from across the world. Reading Festival is one of the most well-known music events in the United Kingdom, attracting over 87,000 fans to see some of the biggest names in music. You may also enjoy the excitement of a live football or rugby match at the Madejski Stadium, which is located near the town center. Reading FC and London Irish Rugby Club play in the stadium, which has a capacity of around 24,000 people.

African Real Estate Society Interview Date, Process, and Location (AfRES)

  • All Africa-based offer holders who have applied for the MSc Real Estate or MSc Real Estate Finance and have never studied outside of their home country.
  • Shortlisting and selection are based on academic merit and the candidates’ responses to the application form questions.
  • If you are offered a scholarship, you must accept it within four weeks of receiving it. Scholarship offers may be cancelled and reassigned after this date.

Once an offer has been made, applicants must apply through the University of Reading’s applicant portal. You can only apply if you have been offered a position (conditional or unconditional). When you see your offer in the portal, you will find a link to apply for scholarship(s) that are applicable to your offer. This website does not allow you to apply.
