Scholarship details
New Zealand is located southeast of Australia, in Oceania, and is made up of 14 major cities divided into two large islands: the North Island and the South Island, as well as many other small islands such as Stewart Island, and Chatham Islands, Waiheke Island, White Island… Located in the middle of the Tasman Sea, it is an easy access point to travel to other attractive destinations such as Fiji, New Caledonia, Tasmania, or Australia itself.
Auckland is the largest and most well-known city, although the capital is Wellington . It has enormous natural wealth and incredible landscapes, with high-quality schools and universities.
Within the culture of New Zealand, it is very important to take into account the Maori culture. New Zealand in Maori is Aotearoa which means “the land of the long white cloud”. Curious, right? Their lands are very often cloudy. The current name probably comes from cartographers in the Netherlands who named these islands Nova Zeelandia, after the Dutch province of Zeeland. The translation would correspond to the current name of New Zealand.
There are currently around 4.5 million inhabitants, 65% of European origin and 15% of Maori origin. Most live on the North Island (more than 3 million). New Zealanders are known as “kiwis”, the name comes from Apteryx, a wingless bird symbol of the country.
New Zealand is one of the countries with the highest quality of life in the world: a safe country, full of opportunities, and with hardly any international students. But the best thing about New Zealand is that you can work while you study, in a perfect environment for your development and learning. In case you are still undecided, here are the main reasons why New Zealand is the ideal destination to study and work. Do you still have doubts?
Deadline: throughout the year
