Scholarship details
These distinguished scholarships are given out in remembrance of the tragic events that took place in the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics and its honors students in October of 2002. The Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics and its alumni initiated a significant fundraising drive, and the funds raised via this effort, coupled with contributions from a large number of other individuals, have made it possible for the faculty to provide these scholarships.
About the Scholarship:
Students from all around the Indo-Pacific region come to Monash University to receive an excellent education and to be inspired by the institution’s cutting-edge research and its worldwide reach. It is a member of the Russell Group of prestigious universities. By teaching others about what we’ve discovered, participating in research, and maintaining relationships with other graduates, we are contributing to the betterment of the world. Our efforts are concentrated on resolving some of the most serious problems facing the world today, such as the escalating climate crisis, unstable geopolitical situations, and the lack of healthy communities. In addition to being the largest university in Australia, we also have four campuses that are situated on the ancestral territories of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung people in the Kulin Nations. The land in Malaysia, China, India, and Italy that we purchased was used to construct the first campus of an international educational institution to be located in Indonesia. Our current student body consists of more than 85,000 individuals, and our alumni community, which consists of more than 420,000 individuals and spans 160 countries.
We are currently ranked 48th in the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings and 64th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. In addition to being a founding member of the Group of Eight universities, we also have a reputation for educational and research excellence on a global scale and are a founding member of the Association of American Universities. Our commitment to resolving the issues of our time has been demonstrated by a number of noteworthy achievements, such as the following: By the year 2030, we hope to have achieved net zero emissions by reducing our carbon footprint, and we hope to become the first Australian university to set an energy reduction target as part of our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These goals are part of our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. An education at Monash offers an experience unlike any other, one that is really global, one that is closely connected with the real world, and one that is directed by academics who are themselves active researchers in their respective fields of study.
Students have access to a wide variety of educational opportunities, including those leading to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, open online courses, microcredentials, professional development, and alternative career paths. Our patrons have access to a wide variety of options and are given ample leeway. In addition to doing all we can to make life better for the people who already call these areas home, one of our primary goals is to find innovative approaches that will make the communities in which we work and live more inviting and diverse. The all of Monash University’s Australian campuses can be found in the metropolitan area of Melbourne and the surrounding suburbs.
