Scholarships for students of Higher University Technician or Bachelor’s Degree in a state or federal public higher education institution located in the State of Sonora.
The Sonora de Oportunidades scholarships for TSU and Public Bachelor’s Degrees – State of Sonora are offered by the Government of the State of Sonora and the Secretary of Education and Culture, through the Institute of Scholarships and Educational Credit of the State of Sonora, issue the scholarship.
The Sonora Opportunities Scholarship program for Higher Technical University and Public Bachelor Students, First Semester 2022, is aimed at recognizing the efforts of students from state public universities participating in this scholarship, as well as contributing to their permanence in school, since who, by belonging to households and contexts with high marginalization and poverty, have greater difficulties in continuing with their higher education studies.

The scholarship may participate as of the first semester of 2022, in an educational program at the Higher Technical University level or Bachelor’s degree in a state public higher education institution located in the state of Sonora.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The minimum average to access the Scholarship awarded in this scholarship will be 80 points on a scale of 1 to 100 or its equivalent, which must be accredited by the complete transcript, up to the last school period completed (trimester, quarter, or semester, as appropriate), except for the selection criteria established in agreement No. 11.170.17/12/2021 of the Ordinary Session of the H. Board of Directors dated December 17, 2021.

DURATION OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS: 5 months
HEI SUPPORT: Participating students must be endorsed by the educational institution of origin, by signing the “Scholarship Application Form” described in Sections III and VI of the scholarship, by an educational authority (Rector’s Office, General, Direction, or Career Headquarters).

What benefits do the Sonora Opportunities Scholarships for Public TSU and Undergraduate – State of Sonora offer?
1. The scholarships consist of a monthly maintenance aid that ranges from $1,000.00 (One thousand pesos 00/100 MN) to $2,000.00 (Two thousand pesos 00/100 MN), according to the selection criteria established in the Rules of Operation for Students Higher Technical University and Public Bachelor’s degrees enrolled in state schools in the state of Sonora, which will cover a period of five months, for a total amount per student in accordance with the following table:
1.1. Monthly Amount: $1,000 (Total: $5,000)
1.2. Monthly Amount: $1,500 (Total: $7,500)
1.3. Monthly Amount: $2,000 (Total: $10,000)

Package Offered:
- The scholarship provides NZ$27,500 per year, as well as payment of all university tuition fees and funds to attend international conferences for up to 3 years of study at Victoria University of Wellington.
- The scholarship does not cover travel expenses, medical insurance, or study materials.
Requirements:
- Eligible course or subjects: Doctorate in the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences, Victoria University of Wellington.
- Applicants must have a strong background in astronomy and/or general physics.

- Students must submit scores from the following tests of English language proficiency: TOEFL 90 points on the Internet-based test with a minimum of 20 written; IELTS overall band of 6.5, no subscore below 6 or Pearson Test of English, with a score of 58.
