The members of the Honorable Justice Norman M. O’Bryan’s family, friends, and former coworkers have committed to working with Melbourne Law School to memorialize Justice O’Bryan by raising funds for the purpose of establishing one or more scholarships for students enrolled in the Melbourne JD program. These scholarships will be awarded to students who have a demonstrated financial need. These scholarships, which will be named in honor of Justice O’Bryan, will ensure that his legacy will go on after his retirement. Following the completion of his studies in law at the university, Justice O’Bryan went on to serve as a judge on the Supreme Court of Victoria from 1977 until 1992. He served in this capacity for a total of 25 years. In the course of his distinguished and lengthy career, he was responsible for a number of important developments in the legal system, particularly in the field of commercial litigation.

About the Scholarship:

The Institution of Melbourne is Australia’s top-ranked university, coming in at 334th overall in the Times Higher Education World Institution Rankings for 2015–2016. When you attend The University of Melbourne, you can take advantage of all that the city has to offer while both studying and having fun. The Economist named Melbourne as the world’s most liveable city. Because of this, attending the University of Melbourne is an experience that students won’t soon forget. There are a variety of career programs and tools available to students at the Melbourne Careers Centre that can help them improve their employability and career management skills. In addition, the Center collaborates with the faculties to incorporate career development education into the academic institution’s course offerings.

It also works closely with businesses and other professional organizations in order to improve their capacities and build partnerships that benefit all parties involved, including the University and its student population themselves as well as those in the community. At Melbourne, undergraduates can participate in a wide range of volunteer, leadership, and internship opportunities. In order to make the most of your time in Melbourne, we strongly recommend that you take advantage of hands-on learning opportunities. To put it another way, some of the greatest discoveries are made outside the classroom. In addition, we’d like to know a little more about each of our students. As a part of preparing for college, you will meet one-on-one with a Student Connect advisor.

At this meeting, we’ll discuss what university is about, why you’re here, and where you want to go after you leave. You can rely on us to motivate and encourage you to reach your full potential at work. Eleven academic institutions, including many research institutes, may be found on the property. Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, Walter and Eliza Institute of Medical Research, and Grattan Institute are a few of the institutions in this list. Before narrowing their concentration to a particular discipline within their field of competence, university students might investigate a wide range of topics. Professors will also help students have a thorough understanding of both the inside and outside programs, allowing them to gain a diverse range of knowledge and experience. In addition to providing a foundational understanding of both the inside and outside programs, these lecturers will also be able to answer any questions that students may have. In addition, the company offers tutoring services to youngsters who are having scholastic difficulties.

Over 48,000 students have applied, with 13,000 hailing from nations all over the globe. Cultural events such as theater and cinema performances, stand-up comedy and public lectures are also regularly organized by the institution. Other groups and societies linked with the foundation include chess clubs, societies for women in science and engineering, and a chocolate-lovers’ association. Currently, the Melbourne University Sports Association (MUSA) is the successor to the Melbourne Sports Union. Aside from that, the University has competed in a wide range of sports, including national cycling championships. A Tennis Club for both students and staff members has also been established by the university. An accelerator program at Melbourne University aims to help people improve their current abilities. The program comprises public events and workshops, as well as on-stage encounters with corporations. Also included are feeder programs. Web solutions, technology, software, and medical devices and hardware are all addressed in this training program. The University Business Incubator Index has ranked the accelerator program as one of the world’s top 25 incubators. People like Emeritus Professor Gillian Triggs (Human Rights Commissioner), George Megalogenis, and Julia Gillard are notable Melbourne University alums (Former Prime Minister of Australia). Notable Melbourne University alumni include Professor Ian H. Frazer (Leader of the Groundbreaking Gardasil Vaccine).

Melbourne’s weather is often unpredictable because of its moderate oceanic environment. As a result of its geographical location at the confluence of extremely hot interior regions and the cool Southern Ocean, Melbourne’s climate is naturally moderated. It’s most evident in the spring and summer, but if it persists long enough, it can contribute to the formation of powerful cold fronts. Gale-force winds, intense thunderstorms, and hail are all possible outcomes of these cold fronts, as well as dramatic temperature reductions and persistent precipitation. Melbourne’s winter temperatures are significantly lower than those of the other mainland Australian state capitals. Snowfall is rare, despite temperatures falling as low as -2.8 degrees Celsius. During the winter months in Melbourne, frost and fog are more common. Rather than just a windbreaker, it is recommended that you bring a “Canadian” autumn coat.
