About the Scholarship Provider:

The Institution of Kent, which was formerly recognized as the University of Kent at Canterbury, is a well-known public research university that can be found in the county of Kent in the United Kingdom. Because it was established in 1965, some refer to it as a university named after Beloff’s plate glass. The University Grants Committee received a proposal in the year 1960 from supporters of the University of Kent to create a university in Canterbury. The proposed university would be named the University of Kent. As a direct result of the passage of the plan in 1962, an Interim Committee was established, and the university was contacted. 1965 was the year that the institution was presented with its Royal Charter. This year, the institution opened its doors to just 500 pupils and 150 employees when it first started operations. The university’s first chancellor will be Princess Marina, the Duchess of Kent. This appointment was made.

At the moment, the establishment is comprised of not just three academic centers but also 18 academic schools, in addition to the six colleges it already possesses. The university has been awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education on two separate occasions in the past eleven years. There are three locations of the educational establishment inside Kent. Six colleges, the Gulbenkian Arts Centre, the Templeman Library, and the Mandela Building can all be found on the Canterbury Campus, which is situated in Parkland. The campus covers an area of 300 acres and is situated in an area that provides easy access to both the city center and London. It offers exceptional academic, residential, and culinary services to its students. In 1982, Tonbridge became home to the School of Continuing Education, which first opened its doors to students. At the moment, it collaborates with both the Kent Innovation & Enterprise Center and the Kent Business School.

The Medway Campus may be found in close proximity to the cities of Chatham and Rochester. It was formerly the location of a naval facility. Both the Pembroke and Chatham campuses of the Naval Dockyard are separated by a fence. Pembroke is the home of the Drill Hall Library, as well as the professional practice and journalism centers, the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, the Student Hub social space, and the Medway branches of the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research, and the School of Computing. The Dockyard is the location of the Kent Business School Medway division as well as the Centre for Music and Audio Technology. The organization operates centers in a number of locations around Europe, including but not limited to Athens, Paris, Brussels, and Rome. The educational establishment provides a wide variety of postgraduate and undergraduate degree programs in a variety of fields, including the following: economics, law, journalism, medicine, anthropology, architecture, environmental studies, arts, media, English, philosophy, social sciences, history, music, science, pharmacy, finance, sports, medicine, and law.

There are over 20,100 students enrolled at the university, and there are approximately 2,000 academic members. 16% of the total student population is comprised of students from other countries. The ratio of professors to students at the university is one to twelve. During the 2015-2016 academic year, the university’s Employability Points program, which is recognized on a national level, was utilized by over 6,700 students and 132 different companies. The University of Kent has formed partnerships with 388 different kinds of organizations from all around the world. There are 160,000 alumni from 180 different nations, and among them are a great number of famous persons. Gavin William James Esler is a well-known individual in the fields of journalism, fiction writing, and hosting on television.

Author of novels, short tales, and screenplays, Kazuo Ishiguro also writes screenplays. Tom Wilkinson is a well-known British actor who has had roles in movies including “Michael Clayton” and “In the Bedroom.” Alan Davies is a British actor, stand-up comedian, and writer, although he is most well-known for his role as Jonathan Creek in the mystery thriller series Jonathan Creek on the BBC. The novels Cloud Atlas and number9dream written by David Mitchell were both put forward for consideration for the Booker Prize.
