The Elizabeth Greenshield Foundation has provided continual financial assistance to more than 2,000 students. Not including the number of artists who come from around 40 different countries. The awardees have become known as renowned artists, both nationally and internationally, as well as highly respected art professors, teachers, and mentors.

Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Scholarship/Grant is for artists who intend to be on the world’s platform to showcase their talent and artwork. The scholarship these students are interested in is from the multiple art world educational institutions whose dimensions within art allow the opportunity to develop themselves in that particular field. All the while students can help to contribute the growth of Canada and their respective countries.

 

Eligibility

  • This application does have an age restriction from 18 years of age to 40 years of age. Individuals can be 41 years of age but their birthday must fall into the later half of the year, from July to December.
  • Since this is an art-based application scholarship, students must have a study field in art. Whether it’s painting, sculpting, or print making.
  • It is best that only students apply for this scholarship who are actively enrolled to an accredited university.
  • Anyone citizen from any country can apply.
  • Only individuals can apply, there is no applications that can be applied through via a teacher, professor, or guided counselor. Only the student can apply as an individual and must provide their own accurate and correct information.
  • Individuals who have applied before but were not chosen to receive this scholarship grant can reapply after two years.
  • Individuals who have won this grant in their first year of applying can reapply for a second and third year.
  • Before applying, applicants should make sure that he or she has access to the availability of these conditions before visiting the application portal.
  • This scholarship/grant does not accept applications from commercial artists

 

Field studies within art they may not apply because it will credit the student to be ineligible:

  • illustration
  • film
  • photography
  • graphic design
  • any type of computer software design
  • any digital media artwork
  • any digital craft
  • crafts
  • animation
  • any film mixed media
  • and anything else that falls into the computer design category

Requirements

Students who are classified as artists, this scholarship grant is available to those that are looking to have a high award to go towards their continued career. This scholarship can be considered a career advancement award.

The foundational selection criteria is strictly based on merit and fulfillment of the eligible criteria.

Students who wish to be the current years winner, must also represent the foundation itself. Each student who wins will have their art in the online gallery and in-person galley of the Elizabeth Greenshield foundation.

Students will be expected to create more art or a continuation of their art line after being awarded this scholarship/grant.

 

How to Apply

This is a print out application as well as an application that can be emailed using the email provided. However, it looks like it may be best to print out, fill out, and sign everything that is needed from the student. The address that this application will go to is:

If the address is not copied word for word, then there is a high probability the foundation will not receive a student’s application.

Students should know that they must not send in excess documents unless contacted and authorized to do so. This is to protect the privacy of the student’s well-being and social identity.

Students will be asked to send in via the actual artifact created through art or if a painting (a photograph of the art created by the artist).

Individuals can expect to write an “artist’s bio” or an about me spot on their application detailing why they became involved in the art that they have chosen.

 

Reward – Extra Benefits

For first time appliers, this scholarship/grant is in the amount of CAD $15,000 a piece. A few students will be handpicked from the application pool to be awarded. Then some students may receive up to the amount of CAD $18,000 a piece depending on the competitive nature of that year. This award will be immediately sent directly to the beneficiaries, not through other organizations.

Students can ask for a check or for the amount to be deposited into their college student bank account to go towards paying off tuition.

Any accredited university will be in connection with the Elizabeth Greenshield Foundation Scholarship/Grant and will allow the student to put aside some of the award money towards buying equipment.

All applicants should know that the total amount will be awarded all at once, in is split up duration amounts.

 

Deadline

The deadline date for is not set to nay one date. Matter of fact, the foundation welcomes applications throughout the year; there is no deadline for filing an application. Individuals can send in an application at any time.

 

Open Submission Window Time Frame

There is a continuous open window for filing out and applying for an application. There is no set deadline date. Since students from al over the globe apply, the foundation finds it fitting to not have a set deadline date or in need of one.

 

Annual

This is an annual scholarship/grant that has seen substantial competition each passing year.
