The original history of the University of the Southern Caribbean begins in 1927. This incredible higher education institution is a private research center. There are many campuses that are in St. Lucia and in Trinidad.
The Saint Lucia campus was only established in 2007, bringing together communities that grew up in the same areas, as well, as bringing international students into a community that is inviting and welcoming.
There is a whole section dedicated to new students so they can find it easier to navigate the university campuses and provide a healthy and mentally well first freshmen year for all students.
There are many scholarships available at the University of South Caribbean where students can pick from a number of scholarships, however, they all share the same deadline date.

This is not a complete list of all of the available undergraduate, master’s or Ph.D. level courses and programs that are currently available at the University of the Southern Caribbean.
Eligibility
- Every student that is interested in applying will need to make sure their grade point average is 3.0 or higher, on the 4.0 grading scale.
- Students must already be enrolled in the University of the Southern Caribbean. There is no other option if the student is not already enrolled.
- Candidates will need to have great standing citizenship from their original country to ensure that students will have great character and they do not have prior offenses.
- If a student demonstrates great leadership, then that makes the student a first priority.
- Another aspect, the student needs to be enrolled in a minimum of at least 12 college credit courses.
- Only Biology majors or pursuer are going to be accepted.
Requirements
Grade point average is a huge requirement for this scholarship. The biggest requirement is that the student has leadership skills along with a higher grade point average. This is technically an academic scholarship where students who are academically inclined will be first priority.
How to Apply
The only way to apply is if the student is already an accepted student at the University of the Southern Caribbean. Now if a student who is currently a student at another university, they will need to become a transfer student before applying for any scholarships.
With that in mind, the student who is then accepted to this university. They will need to fill out the application form that is on the original website. Where there is a ‘application form’ section.
Students must be working towards Biology.
Student Visa
With the university being in Saint Lucia, that means students will need a student visa to stay the whole year to study.
Reward – Extra Benefits
The reward amount for this scholarship is a total value of $2,000 USD. This amount will be going towards the tuition fee costs that are attached to this private university. Which means international students may pay a bit more to receive a full education, instead of an online education.
The $2,000 amount will be awarded at one time towards the start of the academic year.
Deadline Time Line
The deadline time date is April 8, 2023. While the deadline time date has not changed before, the 2021 year did change some timelines. So students should sign up for the newsletter from the university or contact the university to ensure that the date is correct.
Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submission window time frame will open in the beginning of January 2023. That gives students from January to April 8, 2023.
There are no other dates available for open submission window time frames, however, we suggest that students can contact the email address in the contact section.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
This is an annual scholarship that is only available once per year. It is not stated if this scholarship can be renewed, instead students will need to contact the university to ask for further assistance. However, students can apply for different scholarships that are on the university website.
