Scholarship details
The ICEX scholarships are part of a group for Business Internationalization Scholarships for natural persons with nationality of any of the Member States of the European Union, in order to carry out a Master’s Degree in International Business Management (MBA in International Management) (Phase 0), internships in the network of Spanish Economic and Commercial Offices abroad (Phase I), as well as in companies, entities or international organizations of which Spain is a member (Phase II).
The ultimate goal will be the job placement of scholarship holders, offering them professional opportunities and helping them to obtain stable, qualified, and quality jobs.
COMPETENT BODY AND PUBLICITY OF THE SCHOLARSHIP.
The student grant is made by the CEO of ICEX, by a delegation of the president and will be published in the National Subsidies Database, on the ICEX website
CONDITIONS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship system will have three successive phases that will be the University Master’s Degree in International Business Management (Phase 0), the practices in the network of Economic and Commercial Offices of Spain abroad (Phase I), and the Internships in companies, entities or international organizations, inside and outside of Spain (Phase II).
The granting and enjoyment of the scholarships, given their formative nature, will not imply a labor or official relationship between the scholarship holder and ICEX and will imply on the part of the former the acceptance of the provisions of the regulatory bases and in this scholarship
The amount paid to scholarship holders will in no case be considered salary or remuneration, but financial aid for training. The enjoyment of these scholarships will not have in any case the consideration of previous services or effective services, nor will it serve as merit for admission to the Public Administration or for the procedures for the provision of jobs.
A maximum of 288 candidates will access Phase 0 who, meeting the requirements, have passed the selection regulated in the Eleventh section of this student grant.
Subsequently, a maximum of 275 interns will be able to access Phase I of internships in the network of Spanish Economic and Commercial Offices abroad, according to the scores obtained. It will be a requirement to have passed the subjects of the study plan of the constitutive Master of Phase 0 except for the Master’s thesis (TFM) that may be passed during Phase I of internships in the destination.
The internships at the Economic and Commercial Offices will last one year, from January to December 2024. However, given the need for all scholarship holders to complete their training activity at the same time, in the event that the incorporation of one or more If this is not possible on the initial date set, this duration may be shortened where appropriate. In the same way, for training reasons in exceptional and duly justified cases, ICEX may authorize the extension of that period.
ABOUT THE TRAINING
The training that the scholarship holder will obtain in this internship period will deal with access to the local market for goods and services, trade and investment operations, participation in investment projects and public purchases, and the real needs of the Spanish and local entrepreneurs, among other areas, and will be determined by the specific activities carried out within the Internationalization Scholarship program, under the supervision of the Economic and Commercial Counselor or, where appropriate, the Commercial Attaché, of the Economic and Commercial Office of the country of destination.
Among other activities, the following will be carried out, without prejudice to the fact that certain profiles are preferably oriented towards Technological Projects or Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), in which case they will carry out additional, complementary, and non-exclusive activities, with the general profile of Internationalization:
Internationalization. They will carry out, among other activities, training tasks in:
The execution of promotional actions.
Market research activities, identification of opportunities, and promotion of exports.
Learning the techniques and procedures of International Organizations, as well as monitoring their policies and strategies in terms of development aid.
The location and monitoring of opportunities in International Organizations.
The monitoring of cooperation funds and aid in International Organizations, as well as tenders in which Spanish companies participate.
The actions of the multilateral antenna that operates in the OFECOMES.
The implementation or investment of Spanish companies abroad, including the calculation of installation costs.
Activities are related to attracting foreign investment in Spain.
The management of databases and informative activities on the target market.
Gathering information and writing notes.
Monitoring of the economy and trade policy of the country of destination.
The execution of the actions carried out in the target markets of the technological content sectors, such as infrastructure, environment, energy, industrial plants, etc.
Market research activities and identification of opportunities in these sectors.
Information Technologies (IT).
Implementation, administration, and maintenance of the IT platform and information systems of the OFECOMES.
Finally, those scholarship holders who have successfully completed Phase I of internships in the Economic and Commercial Offices in accordance with the provisions of the Bases Order and expressly accept their access to Phase II through the standardized model that will be available on the web: www.icex.es
The internships in companies, entities, or international organizations will have a duration of one year from the signing of the corresponding agreement in the first months of 2025. The corresponding internships may be carried out inside or outside of Spain, either in companies or entities incorporated in Spain. with international activity, or in any of its subsidiaries abroad, as well as in international organizations.
ICEX ESPAÑA
ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones is a national public business entity whose mission is to promote the internationalization of Spanish companies and the promotion of foreign investment.
What benefits do ICEX Scholarships offer?
1. ICEX will assume the costs of the official Master’s degree, except for the public price that will be governed by what has been approved and published by a resolution of the General Secretariat of Universities of the Ministry of Universities in the “Official State Gazette”, and will be paid directly by the student. or student
2. ICEX will grant an endowment of 500 euros per beneficiary or beneficiary to cover the costs of accommodation, transport, and maintenance during the period of the official Master. The aid may be raised to 2,000 euros in cases of registration other than the Community of Madrid from at least 3 years before the date of publication of this grant.
3. Reference annual individual gross endowments of scholarships for carrying out internships in the specific Economic and Commercial Offices for each city of destination are included.
