For each annual academic year the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) awards multiple scholarships to students. These students must be encouraging and showing dedication to the pursuit of higher education in diverse areas of study. These areas do include history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, elementary and secondary education, chemistry, math, science and English.

For this specific scholarship, the subject of history is the dedicated format for which an applicant must be studying to be deemed eligible for this scholarship. Students must be undergraduates when they apply and if they have applied before but have yet to be awarded, then students may continue to apply for this scholarship until they are in fact awarded with the scholarship prize.

Eligibility

  • Anyone that intends on applying must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Students that do end up becoming a recipient of this scholarship, can only do so once during their higher education career. This is a non-renewable scholarship.
  • The ways the panel of judges decide on an recipient is based on the student’s dedication to their study, high grade point average, and academic excellence in all fields as they attend university.
  • Both male and female students may apply. Since the Daughters of the American Revolution tends to only work with female students, this scholarship covers both male and female students who are interested in applying.
  • Students should either already be attending or plan on attending an accredited university/college within the United States.
  • Students ay have to present additional information if they have been wait-listed. This way the student is still on there way to winning the scholarship only there has been a competitive year and that means a few students may need to be short-listed to ensure everyone’s application if viewed by the panel of judges.
