The National University of Samoa has a remarkable beginning and a thriving educational center where students in Samoa and from other international countries, can come to pursue a Master’s degree.
The establishment year for this university was 1984. With originally only 45 students who had become students of this university has grown into the thousands. Officially in the 2000s the National University of Samoa and the Samoa Polytechnic were merged together to form a larger higher education center.
Since this scholarship is a pairing with the Confucius Institute or the Chinese Embassy in Samoa, students that have had any prior classes or courses with the Confucius Institute will highly benefit from this. - This scholarship is available to students who are pursuing a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in any available program under the National University.
Requirements
Since this is an academic-based scholarship, that means that the students who have the best grades and grade point average will be seen as ultimate eligible students.
Any student that is pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree must be able to show that they have had experience attending the Confucius Institute or the Chinese Embassy in Samoa. This will aid in the probable acceptance of this scholarship option.

Reward – Extra Benefits
Funding options will be available in these three tiers:
- Two students who will be chosen to receive the top award for 2000 tala’s per person for each semester. So a total of 4000 tala per year.
- Three students who will be chosen to receive the second award for 1000 tala per person for each semester. A total of 2000 tala per year.
- Five students who will be chosen to receive the last award for 500 tala per person for each semester. So a total of 1000 tala per year.
A handful of students will be chosen to become recipients of this scholarship award with varying winning tiers.
Deadline Time Line
The official deadline time date is July 15, 2023. This is the only deadline date available since this is a new scholarship that was established just this current year. Students can contact the e-mail address that is provided in the contact section to ask for an extension.

Open Window Submission Time Frame
The open window submission time frame beings in January 1, 2023 and lasts until July 15, 2023. This ultimately gives students enough time to submit their application with the necessary document information.

Annual or Renewable Scholarship Option
This is an annual scholarship option that cannot be renewed because it is a one time scholarship for students.
