A number of awards are based on academic merit or service prior to applying to Norwich. Other awards are based on activities and interaction in the community with the university before the students came to the university as a freshman. Norwich University Scholarships are not specifically for the tuition fee expenses to pay but also for other university fees and no fees are external to the University.

Norwich University offers scholarships and awards in four categories:

All interested students can join and earn their scholarships from several categories, but only one scholarship or award from each category. Norwich financial support is provided to cover a percentage of the cost of the fee. All scholarships and awards listed in this category will reduce the overall cost of your education at Norwich. Norwich Scholarships and Awards is non-transferable and can only be used at Norwich University.
What are the four scholarship categories and eligibility?
The Academic Scholarship
The Academic Scholarship are awarded in accordance with available funds based on previous academic achievements.
Awards: Academic scholarships are confirmed upon admission and are based on the total cost of living on campus for the indicated year. Price changes due to adjustments to fees, accommodations, or changes in tuition fees (online on campus) may change the value or may disqualify the scholarship.
Eligibility: The eligibility criteria of the scholarship will be based on the student’s academic merit, the cumulative GPA will be calculated at the admission office. For high school students who will apply directly, the scholarship is calculated based on the average high school achievement (GPA). Scholarships for students transferring into the spring semester of the first year are also calculated based on their average high school performance. Students who transfer after the spring semester of their freshman year receive scholarships based on their college grade point average.
Application Deadline: This will be for the students who will be commencing or applying for fall this academic year.
Activity-based Awards
The activity-based scholarship will be for the students who already completed their admission process at the university.
Awards: A financial aid to support the deserving students to up to $2,000 annually award for four years. A webinar award of up to $1,000 annually is awarded for four years.
Eligibility: The students must be able to submit their admission for the fall semester this academic year to be considered.
Visits Scholarship Awards
The Visits Scholarship Award is intended for the students who visit the Northfield, Vermont campus during or after the spring semester of their first year of high school as part of an official admissions visit are eligible for a $1,000 attendance award. This $1,000 award is offered annually for a total of $4,000 over four academic years.
Leadership Scholarship
Each high school may nominate up to three students who have demonstrated outstanding experiences in their school or community for the Norwich High School Service Award, which awards $5,000 annually, for a total of $20,000 over four academic years.
Application and Selection
All admitted full-time students at the Northfield, Vermont campus are screened to determine eligibility for a variety of scholarships offered that recognize the student’s achievements/merits, community services, and leadership and activity. All locally accepted students who apply for free Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are considered in the need-based financial aid if criteria for the eligibility meet. International students enrolled in programs offered only at the Northfield, Vermont campus may also apply for a University of Norwich scholarship, if required, by completing the CSS International Profile.
All applicants admitted to the Norwich Continuing Education Program will automatically be considered one of the Norwich scholarships based on prior academic merit. Academic scholarships will be determined by recalculated high school grades or promotions, using the college prep class on the student’s transcript.
