Eligibility
- Students will have to use the same application eligibility requirements for admission since students have to be admitted to the American University of Bulgarian first before applying for this scholarship.
- There is an online application form for admissions.
- For admissions students will need to have an essay, letters of recommendations, transcript, proof of English proficiency, CV, portfolio, admissions interview, SAT and ACT scores are required, and application for financial aid. The financial aid does depend on the students income amount.
- This scholarship was created for any outstanding American/Bulgarian individual for their first year of study at the American University of Bulgaria.
- This scholarship is based on academic merit and the how the character of the student is represented by themselves. A student’s character and leadership skills while need to be on show to show the scholarship committee that this person is capable to hold this scholarship.
Requirements
Base requirements for students to send in these items to complete the application process:
- A video or presentation telling the student’s story about their social impact
- An essay
- Transcripts
- Show proof and have valid reviews from the individuals who are being affected in a positive way by the social impact that is helping them.
How to Apply
This scholarship will cover a full entire year for a new student, or a new bachelor’s student who has never attended this university. The only way to apply is by sending in admissions to the American University of Bulgaria to be accepted to study at the university.
Reward – Extra Benefits
This scholarship has a $2,500 award attached to it for one student to become the recipient of this scholarship. This covers the tuition of the first-year so the student does not have to worry about paying off tuition for their first year. Students can definitely apply for other scholarships while they are holding this one. Other scholarships can cover book fees, excess fees, accommodation coverage or health care insurance coverage.
Student Visa
A student visa is only needed if the student is from a different country other than Bulgaria. This way the student will need to present credible and correct information to send to the Embassy of Bulgaria. Students will need to have their student visa before they arrive in the country.
Deadline Time Line
The official deadline date is the same as the deadline for the application date.
Early admission has the deadline date of March 1, 2024. Since the 2023 year has already selected a new batch of freshmen students, students will have to watch for the 2024 school year.
Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submission window time frame is the same as the open window as the application. The open window is from January 1 – March 1, 2024. There is a potential date for an extended open window that students can apply for. However, this date needs to be inquired about until the university through the contact information section that is located on this article.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
This is an annual scholarship that lasts for the given time frame or how long the research project needs to be conducted. This is not a renewable scholarship research option. There may be option to receive a higher funding percentage depending on the student financial or low income background and current state of living.
