For the 2024–25 school year, the ACSPRI Fellowship Programme is seeking applications from PhD students enrolled at member universities.
The fellowship will help Ph.D. candidates realize their desired career pathways and realize their goals by offering direct financial support and opportunities for professional growth.

Scholarship Offer:
- During the two years of the Fellowship, the recipient will receive a yearly stipend of $10,000, tuition waivers for two years’ worth of ACSPRI courses, and funding to cover travel and lodging expenses for the ACSPRI Biennial Conference, for a grand total of $25,000.
The Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship is administered by the University of Oslo’s Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). As part of the visiting scholar program, CEMO and the University of Oslo host a number of young researchers from Norway and elsewhere each year.
Eligibility for Scholarship.
- Applicants to the ACSPRI Fellowship Programme must be confirmed candidates (or close to fulfilling the prerequisites for confirmation) enrolled in a Ph.D. programme at an ACSPRI member institution (in Australia or New Zealand). Anyone with a strong background in the social sciences and an interest in applying is encouraged to do so. Anthropology, economics, demographics, psychology, politics, sociology, and so on all fall under this umbrella.

The Flinders University 2023 ACSPRI Fellowship Programme is open to all international students.
If a student enrolls in one of the degree programs offered by SOAS University of London, they may be eligible to receive a fee waiver award in the amount of £5,000. This award is available to students who are interested in receiving a degree from SOAS University of London.
Application Procedure
- not already have received this particular scholarship
- Attending a school that is a current ACSPRI member, either as a full- or part-time student.
- All applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- A CV that has been recently updated
- A glowing reference from your current or most recent supervisor.
- A description of how your participation in the fellowship will improve the standard of the social science research you are conducting (one to two pages in length).
- A short (5-minute maximum) video presentation explaining your research question(s) and how you plan to approach them.
- After reviewing each application, the ACSPRI Executive Committee will award the ACSPRI Fellowship to the most deserving candidate.
- Those who make it to the next round will be asked to deliver a brief overview of their research problem at the Biennial ACSPRI Social Science Methodology Conference. ACSPRI will organize travel and lodging for the winners as part of the reward. Both the main ACSPRI website and the Conference website will host the winning films, and they will be screened at the Conference itself.
