Additional Information
Optimizing the most effective use of university learning opportunities is a big challenge for every student. Hartwick provides specialized assistance with its student suggestion system. All students are assigned a lecturer as a full-time student advisor. For new students, it is strived for this supervisor to become a lecturer owned by the student during the fall semester so that the supervisor can get to know each other.
When a student demonstrates a specialization, every effort will be made to compare it with an advisor in that department. If a student does not specify a major, he or she will be appointed as a specialist advisor for student advisory services. In addition to unannounced course suggestions or offers, students have access to resources to the course office that helps them select courses. Students must meet with their supervisor prior to each course enrollment, but students are encouraged to visit their supervisor regularly throughout the year.
Helping students plan programs that are challenging, satisfying, and consistent is one of the best options for assistance but advisors can also discuss career opportunities or resources available at the college to address specific problems students may face.
