The Dr. Daphne Cooper Scholarship (Scholarship) is made available due to the generosity of the late Dr. Daphne Cooper, who served as a lecturer in the School of Psychology from the year 1960 until the year 1975, when she retired. The scholarship is awarded annually. She began her academic career by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tasmania in 1941.
Subsequently, she pursued postgraduate studies in clinical psychology at the University of Western Australia. Finally, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Psychology from the University of Tasmania in 1971. In light of the fact that Daphne began her professional life as a teacher and currently works as a vocational advice officer for the Tasmanian Education Department, her long-term interests in educational and developmental psychology are not surprising.

If you are interested in a career in a medical or pathology laboratory, consider enrolling in the Laboratory Medicine program (previously known as Biomedical Science) at the University of Tasmania. Real-world laboratories and patient scenarios help students develop the skills they’ll need to perform critical diagnostic services during crises like the ongoing worldwide epidemic. Graduates of programs recognized by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS) will be prepared to enter the medical science workforce.

- This award is an additional scholarship that will provide $3,000 every year over the course of 3.5 years.
The Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship is administered by the University of Oslo’s Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). As part of the visiting scholar program, CEMO and the University of Oslo host a number of young researchers from Norway and elsewhere each year.
Eligibility for Scholarship.
- The following requirements must be met in order to qualify for this Scholarship:
- An applicant applying for a PhD with a base living allowance stipend at the University rate, or a current PhD candidate who has been offered or awarded a base stipend at the University rate; and, An applicant applying for a PhD with a research project in the School of Psychological Sciences, or a current PhD candidate with a research project in the School of Psychological Sciences.
- Every application that satisfies the requirements for participation in the program will be taken into consideration for the Scholarship.

The University of Tasmania 2023 Dr Daphne Cooper Scholarship, Australia is open to all international students.
If a student enrolls in one of the degree programs offered by SOAS University of London, they may be eligible to receive a fee waiver award in the amount of £5,000. This award is available to students who are interested in receiving a degree from SOAS University of London.
