Pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hearing Health: The PATHWAY study is the name of a study that is being financed by the National Health and Medical Research Council, and we are looking for an exceptional individual to get a Ph.D. scholarship for this project. This innovative endeavor is a collaboration between the University of Flinders, the University of Sydney, and the University of New South Wales.

One doctoral student will be awarded a sponsored fellowship to work on this research at Flinders University under the supervision of Dr. Jacqueline Stephens. Candidates who hold an honours degree in audiology, public health, digital health, or another health-related field may be qualified to participate in this study.  Applicants who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander are strongly encouraged to submit their applications.

Scholarship Offer:

  • The following are part of the scholarship:
  • A tax-free allowance with an annual value of $33,000 (2023 rate), paid out monthly.
  • The scholarship will be given out for a total of three years.
  • A Research Training Programme Fee Offset Scholarship to pay the cost of tuition for citizens of Australia, New Zealand, and permanent residents of Australia and New Zealand.

 

The Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship is administered by the University of Oslo’s Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). As part of the visiting scholar program, CEMO and the University of Oslo host a number of young researchers from Norway and elsewhere each year.

 

Eligibility for Scholarship.

  • A student must fulfill the following requirements in order to be considered for the awarding of this scholarship:
  • Have an Australian Honours degree Class 1 or 2A or equivalent qualification (at least AQF Level 8), including a research component of at least 6 months full-time study achieving Distinction (75%) OR including evidence of equivalent research experiences, such as a substantial first-author refereed publication or track record as a researcher in a related field. In addition, you must meet the requirements for Ph.D. admission, which include being an Australian citizen, a citizen of New Zealand, or a permanent resident of Australia
  • be available to begin studies for a doctoral degree at Flinders University in July 2023 as a full-time student

The Flinders University 2023 Ph.D. Scholarship – Pathways for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Hearing Health  is open to all International Students

 

If a student enrolls in one of the degree programs offered by SOAS University of London, they may be eligible to receive a fee waiver award in the amount of £5,000. This award is available to students who are interested in receiving a degree from SOAS University of London.

 

Application Procedure

  • Before submitting an application for the scholarship, potential applicants are strongly encouraged to get in touch with the Project lead, Jacqueline Stephens, through email ([email protected]), to explore their level of interest in the opportunity as well as their qualifications to take advantage of it.  It’s possible that the head of the project may ask you to submit an application and will ask for a copy of your resume together with a cover letter explaining your relevant qualifications, experience, and research experience, as well as your reasons for wanting to receive the scholarship.
  • The ideal starting date for the successful candidate is July 1, 2023; however, this date is subject to negotiation.
