This scholarship is for international students who wish to pursue a Master’s or Ph.D. in engineering or a Ph.D. program in petroleum geology.
Who awards the scholarship?
The scholarship at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi offers graduate students comprehensive scholarships that cover necessary educational expenses and can also offer recipients the chance to earn an attractive monthly stipend.
Scholarship eligibility is assessed as part of the admissions process and applicants are not required to submit a separate scholarship application. The University reserves the right to make changes to published scholarship rates and information without prior notice.
RESEARCH/TEACHING SCHOLARSHIP FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Khalifa University of Science and Technology offers scholarships to support qualified international students enrolled in full-time postgraduate programs.
The University reserves the right to make changes to the published benefits and conditions of the scholarships without prior notice.
STUDY MODES. Students may be admitted full-time or part-time, depending on the program of study.
1. Full Time: Students must enroll in 3-4 courses each semester (9-12 credit hours or equivalent).
2. Part Time – Students must enroll in 2 courses each semester (6 credit hours or equivalent).
Enrollment in credits below or above these standard limits for full-time or part-time students requires prior written approval.
Employers are encouraged to allow part-time students to attend the University at least one day a week. This is particularly important during the research/project portion of the program, as students are required to attend weekly meetings with their supervisor.
Enrollment during the summer term is limited to a maximum of 2 courses (6 credit hours or equivalent).
DURATION
The doctoral scholarship is awarded to selected applicants for a maximum of 48 months.
MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIP IN RESEARCH TEACHING (MRTS). The MRTS scholarship supports international students pursuing a master’s degree at Khalifa University. The benefits of the scholarship include:
1. Full coverage of tuition fees.
2. Health insurance coverage for Khalifa University sponsored students (student visa), as per the rules and regulations of the University.
3. Support to attend international research conferences, subject to approval.
4. Mobilization and demobilization of flight assistance for international students abroad.
5. AED 4,000 monthly stipend.
IMPORTANT: The MRTS scholarship does not cover student accommodation costs.
COMBINED MASTERS / DOCTORAL TEACHING SCHOLARSHIP (CMDRTS). The CMDRTS Scholarship supports international students pursuing both Masters and PhD at Khalifa University. Scholarship benefits include:
a. Full coverage of tuition fees.
b. Health insurance coverage for Khalifa University sponsored students (student visa), as per the rules and regulations of the University.
c. Support to attend international research conferences, subject to approval.
d. Mobilization and demobilization of flight assistance for international students abroad.
and. Free university accommodation for the student only (or accommodation assistance of AED 2,000 per month only if university accommodation is not available for the eligible student, as per University rules and regulations).
F. Monthly salary:
g. During the Master: AED 8,000
h. During PhD: AED 12,000
i. Students who wish to complete a master’s degree need only select the MRTS scholarship when applying for postgraduate studies at Khalifa University.
DOCTORATE SCHOLARSHIP IN TEACHING RESEARCH (DRTS). The DRTS Scholarship supports international students pursuing a Ph.D. at Khalifa University. The benefits of the scholarship include:
1. Full coverage of tuition fees.
2. Health insurance coverage for Khalifa University sponsored students (student visa), as per the rules and regulations of the University.
3. Support to attend international research conferences, subject to approval.
4. Mobilization and demobilization of flight assistance for international students abroad.
5. Free university accommodation for the student only (or accommodation assistance of AED 2,000 per month only if university accommodation is not available for the eligible student, as per University rules and regulations).
6. AED 12,000 monthly stipend.

- The scholarship offers £2,400 for an average of 60% or more in high school (or equivalent), £1,400 for an average of 55% or more in high school (or equivalent).
- The scholarship does not cover travel expenses, maintenance, medical insurance or study materials.

- Applicants must present the following documents upon admission: a pre-qualifying degree, copies of transcripts, certificates of English language proficiency, a statement, and a copy of passport.
