Carleton University’s Department of History and Carleton Centre for Public History are looking for candidates for a postdoctoral fellowship in Critical Public History and Museology. Applications can be submitted until April 15, 2018. The beginning of the contract is scheduled to take place on August 1, 2022, and it will last for a total of two years. The postdoctoral scholar will be participating in projects that investigate the beginnings and legacies of settler colonialism in collection creation and scientific practice in the Canadian Museum of Civilization.

Scholarship Offer:
An annual stipend of £18,000, which includes the outer London allowance and full-time tuition fees for 36 months, will be awarded to the selected candidates by Brunel University London.
Eligibility for Scholarship.
1) Completion of a doctoral program in a field that is relevant to the scope of the research objectives, such as history, public history, critical heritage, library, information, and archival studies, art history, cultural studies, anthropology, sociology, geography, or any other discipline that is relevant to the field. (It is important to note that “finished PhD” refers to the beginning of the fellowship, rather not necessary at the time of the application.)
2) The capacity to maintain a residence in the National Capital area
3) The majority of the study will be conducted using resources in the English language; nonetheless, the fellow will be required to carry out some study on French archival materials. Both French and Inuktitut are regarded as powerful language assets.
4) Previous experience working with other people on research projects is another valuable quality to possess.
