Students who will be enrolling in either undergraduate or postgraduate initial teacher registration programmes are eligible to apply for the Enabling Educator Excellence (E3) Scholarship that was established by the government of South Australia. Beginning in the middle of the academic year in 2023, a total of 35 Enabling Educator Excellence (E3) Scholarships will be made available to deserving candidates. An application for a scholarship shall be considered to be made when the candidate submits an application for a seat as a starting student in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree that is recognised by the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.

These scholarships will be considered for all students who accept an offer into an eligible course for the second semester of 2023 and who are enrolled in at least one topic by the end of business on Monday, July 17 in order to be eligible for consideration.

  • Each scholarship has a value of $5,000 and is awarded on the condition that the recipient remains enrolled in a qualifying programme. Following the census date of each semester, payments will be made in two equal installments totaling the total amount due.
  • Before accepting their scholarships, students who are only enrolled in school part-time should consult an independent tax advisor because the award may be considered taxable income. 

 

The Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship is administered by the University of Oslo’s Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). As part of the visiting scholar program, CEMO and the University of Oslo host a number of young researchers from Norway and elsewhere each year.

 

Eligibility for Scholarship.

  • Candidates for scholarships are required to:
  • You must be a citizen of Australia, a permanent resident of Australia, or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa in order to be eligible for this scholarship. You must also be beginning the first year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Flinders University in an initial teacher registration course that is accredited by the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia*. You must also have a permanent home address in South Australia. You must not have received this scholarship in the past. You must also meet the requirements for one of the following applicant streams:
  • High ATAR or GPA (ATAR of 80 or above including bonus points or GPA of 5.5); or First Nations people (Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander); or Women in STEM (enrolled in a major or minor that will enable them to teach STEM after they have completed their degree); or Men in primary school teaching (men undertaking a primary school education qualification). 
  • The applicants will be ranked according to their academic merit, which will be determined by their ATAR or GPA. Full-time students may be given preference for the position.
  • There will be a cap of no more than fifty percent of available scholarships going to any one programme type. Postgraduate students are eligible to receive no more than sixty percent of the total allotment.
  • A committee consisting of representatives from the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work, the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement, and Student Administration Services will select the candidate(s) for the position(s).

If a student enrolls in one of the degree programs offered by SOAS University of London, they may be eligible to receive a fee waiver award in the amount of £5,000. This award is available to students who are interested in receiving a degree from SOAS University of London.

 

Application Procedure

  • An application for the scholarship will be considered complete if it includes both an application for the course and subsequent enrollment in that course by the deadline that has been designated. In the event that the scholarship quotas have not yet been met, late course acceptances may be taken into consideration.
