C.E.L.A. Belize was formally an educational foundation and organization to bring students to study in the tropical wonders of Belize. The C.E.L.A. group was created in 2010 by both a group of teachers and students alike who understood that Belize had incredible study opportunities for international students.

C.E.L.A. offers a few different programs which are:

  • Tropical Marine Ecology
  • Large Animal Veterinary Practice in the Tropics
  • Wildlife Health and Conservation

For Tropical Marine Ecology potential applicants need to apply for enrollment before the Winter of 2022. Also, the program does have a 100% refund policy.

Now, students that are interested in receiving or becoming the recipient of the Gilman-McCain scholarship need to read through the guideline requirements that are stated on the click through link on the website link provided.

From there, students will be able to see if they fit the needed and necessary requirements requested. This is for military spouses and dependents only. As well as for United States citizens only.

The core fundamental values that is associated with C.E.L.A. is understanding green energy and sustainability for the ocean. By inviting students and encouraging the understanding of Belize’s biodiversity that is part of their culture.

The primary reason C.E.L.A. was created was to promote more abroad study programs and experience learning in different parts of the world. There have been multiple papers published stating how studying in a new culture and place can promote a better learning environment for undergraduates. Along with providing a new country to explore and learn from, this can lead to students learning the native language. However, the main language spoken in Belize is English, along with creole patois, and many Belizeans are multilingual. Other languages spoken are Yucatec, Mopán, and Kekchí.

Students will be able to encounter real life and understand how culture lives in Belize. This helps to promote better study programs and more college students to choose this country to earn a better study and higher education once they choose a program to enter.
