For students in Africa, the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom offers a scholarship for the academic year 2022-2023. Vice-Chancellor’s Africa Scholarship is for eligible African students who can want to further their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the UK with the help of a scholarship amounting to £5,000 annually.

Eligibility
Before proceeding with the application process, students must read the eligibility of the scholarship
- Only Eligible countries from Africa are eligible for the scholarship.
- Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in all eligible courses offered by the university excluding Medicine and Dentistry.
- Postgraduate degree students will be admitted in a full-time total of 180 credits over eligible courses for 1 year. If the applicant is studying for a 2-year full-time postgraduate degree they may be eligible for both awards.
- Must be considered as an international paying fee student at the University of Dundee.
Note:
University of Dundee scholarships, grants, and awards are subject to separate eligibility criteria and program terms and conditions that must be met. Applicants must also follow the application process (including the deadlines) specified for each award. If the number of eligible candidates exceeds the number of available prizes, UoD will select a successful candidate from the pool of candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and other appropriate conditions.
Course Credit
- For the Undergraduate must be 120 credits annually per academic.
- Postgraduate students must have 180 credits per academic year.
Ph.D. and research courses will not be covered by the scholarship.

Application Process
African students are not required to apply for the scholarship, they just have to apply to study at the University of Dundee and the eligibility will be assessed as follows and as part of the application for the course.
The university will notify all the successful students after applying to a place for study at the university and eligibility has been assessed.
Providing Accurate Information for the Application
You must ensure that your application and all supporting documents are complete, correct, accurate, and current. You agree to provide UoD with any additional information that UoD may reasonably require in connection with the application.
If a candidate provides misleading information or falsification of documents, UoD reserves the right to:
• refuse applications for scholarships and other related awards
• withdraw the offer of scholarships if it has already been made
• Notify the admission team.

All of our courses are conducted in English. If English is not your first language, you must demonstrate that you have the language skills necessary to participate in class discussions, understand courses, and successfully complete your assignments.
Scholarship Awards and Payments Process
The University of Dundee will notify the applicants of the results of the application using your UoD email address. Feedback may not always be provided for failed applications, but it will be provided whenever possible.
The scholarship letter will state the amount and terms of payment of the scholarship, fellowship, and/or other award and any additional requirements that must be met.
You may be required to notify the university in writing the scholarship acceptance by a specific date specified in the award letter.
The scholarship which covers living expenses is paid in monthly installments and must be paid into a UK account. The university cannot make payments to an international account.
The successful students will be awarded a total value of £5,000 annually, a maximum of £25,000 exclusively to the students in eligible African countries.
Terms and Condition of the Awards
If the awardee withdraws from their course program, they will no longer be eligible for UoD grants, scholarships, and other awards. All payments will be suspended from the date of withdrawal. If the award is a tuition waiver or payment of a university tuition fee, the UoD Tuition Refund Policy will not apply to any portion of the tuition fee paid by the applicable award.
If the awardee needs to repeat an academic year (at any time during your education), UoD reserves the right to stop making payments for scholarships or awards.
If at the end of a course or module you do not achieve the results required to maintain the scholarship, UoD reserves the right to stop paying for the scholarship, fellowship, and/or award.
The award of scholarships for one academic year is reviewed annually by the university student’s admission in collaboration with the respective faculty. Progress criteria must be met to continue earning the scholarship awards.
Scholarship Deadline
The deadline for application is until June 30, 2022.
