The Roddenberry Foundation hopes that talented and passionate activists will take action for long-term effect. US citizens, permanent residents, or current visa holders in the 50 United States, over the age of 18 are eligible to apply for the Roddenberry Scholarship.
The foundation seeks to source 20 activists, leaders, advocates, and changemakers whose work has the greatest potential to protect the most vulnerable and make the United States a more equitable and inclusive place to live.
A total of $1,000,000 will be awarded, be one of 20 fellows to be chosen this year for the 2023 Roddenberry Scholarship for a $50,000 grant to help support a project or initiative in one of four regions.

Roddenberry Foundation Scholarship Eligibility
The Roddenberry Scholarship is available to US citizens, permanent residents, or current visa holders in the 50th United States who are 18 years of age or older and who meet the following requirements:
- I agree to all legal terms and conditions of The Roddenberry Fellowship
- Submit an application in English.
- The primary focus of your initiative will be US issues including immigrant and refugee rights, civil rights, LGBTQIA and women’s rights, or climate change and environmental justice.
- is available to dedicate twelve (12) months to your initiative.
- You are connected to, employed by, or housed with a recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization, academic institution, or volunteer group at the time of your program.
- When initiatives, new or existing, have an annual organizational budget of $1 million or less.
- Your initiative does not involve any effort to influence legislation or the results of any specific public election or the conduct of any voter registration drive.

Foundation of the Roddenberry Foundation Scholarship Voucher
Twenty (20) fellows will be selected to receive $50,000 each, as well as personalized support, to help implement a project or initiative in one of four areas: Civil Rights, Climate Change and Environmental Justice, Immigration and Refugee Rights, and LGBTQIA and Women’s Rights.
As a member you will receive:
- $50,000 to support an initiative that has a direct impact in your field
- Professional training and personalized development opportunities.
- Virtual collaboration sessions to provide ongoing advice, support and training
- A three-day in-person retreat in February 2023 with the entire cohort, community leaders, and coaches
