Scholarship details
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the David E. Kelley Society of Fellows in the Arts, and the Maurice R. Greenberg Scholarship Fund will each contribute a portion of the funds needed to support the Princeton Arts Fellowships, which will be given to artists whose accomplishments have been recognised as demonstrating extraordinary promise in any field of artistic practise and teaching. These fellowships will be awarded by Princeton University. Applicants should be visual artists, filmmakers, poets, novelists, playwrights, designers, directors, and performance artists who are at an early stage in their careers and who would find it useful to spend two years teaching and working in a community that is artistically dynamic at a university. This list is not meant to be exhaustive.
The Princeton Arts Fellows are required to spend two academic years in a row at Princeton University (September 1 through July 1), and they are also responsible for formal teaching. There is a possibility that fellows will be asked to take on an artistic assignment in place of a class rather than the regular labour assignment of teaching one class per semester, which is subject to permission by the Dean of the Faculty. Examples of possible artistic assignments include directing a play or creating a dance with students. We anticipate that Fellows will be full and active members of our community, committed to having frequent and involved encounters with students throughout the academic year. This is the case even when the teaching load is small.
About the Scholarship Provider:
Princeton University was founded in 1746, making it the fourth-oldest college or university in the United States. Engineering, sociology, physics, and the humanities are all taught at the university’s undergraduate and graduate levels, making it a top research and teaching institution. In addition, it provides a wide range of graduate and professional degrees. Many students choose to enrol in the university for its highly regarded economics, computer engineering, and public policy analysis departments. For a long time now, this university has consistently been ranked among the world’s best universities. It has been named the world’s best institution for teaching undergraduates in three consecutive academic years (2015–2016, 2017–2018, and 2018–2019).
In addition, all Princeton undergraduates must write a thesis, and those majoring in particular branches of engineering must additionally perform an individual capstone project. These stipulations are what distinguish Princeton’s curriculum from those at other schools. All undergraduates at the institution have access to on-campus housing for their full four years, and as a result, 98% of students opt to make campus their permanent home.

New York City’s reputation for energy and cultural variety ensure that students studying there have a fantastic time. Restaurants, gyms, medical clinics, and convenience stores are all conveniently accessible near both campuses. The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the School of Engineering and Applied Science are two of Princeton’s top-tier graduate schools.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama, civil leader David Mathews, former Chief Justice Oliver Ellsworth, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Apollo 12 astronaut and commander Pete Conrad, and Google chairman Eric Schmidt are just some of the famous people who attended Princeton.
