Scholarship Benefit

The scholarship covers the following:

1. Subsidized tuition fees for the expected duration (up to four years) of the respective degree programs at SUTD after considering the Tuition Grant.

2. A living allowance of $5,800 per academic year for scholarship recipients.

It’s important to note that all Singapore permanent residents and international students who benefit from the MOE Tuition Grant Subsidy must work with a Singapore-registered company for a period of three years after their graduation. This work commitment is part of the scholarship terms and conditions.

Eligibility

The scholarship is available to Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR) and International Students from ASEAN countries (excluding Singapore) who are pursuing full-time MOE-subsidized undergraduate programs at SUTD leading to their first degree.

To be eligible, applicants should:

1. Possess outstanding qualifications such as the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ levels, a Local Polytechnic Diploma, NUS High School Diploma, IB Diploma, or equivalent Year 12 qualifications.

2. Demonstrate an impressive track record in Co-Curricular Activities.

3. Exhibit strong leadership qualities and potential.

It’s important to take note of the following key points:

– The NUS undergraduate merit scholarship is open to students across all faculties. However, please be aware that highly competitive courses like Medicine, Dentistry, and Law offer limited scholarships for students pursuing these fields.

– Scholarship recipients are not allowed to concurrently hold any other scholarships, fellowships, grants, or awards without prior approval from the University.

– The University does not provide assistance for travel or other related expenses nor guarantee employment for scholars upon graduation.

– The scholarship covers the entire duration of undergraduate studies, contingent upon scholars maintaining a minimum Cumulative Average Point (CAP) of 3.5. Academic performance is assessed on a semester-by-semester basis.

– The University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship at any time if, in its opinion, the recipient’s academic progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory.

– If a scholar decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, the University may impose a repayment obligation on a case-by-case basis.

ASEAN Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for consideration:

1. You must be a member of one of the ASEAN countries.

2. Demonstrate strong leadership skills.

3. Possess a strong academic background.

4. Achieve outstanding high school results.

5. Apply for full-time degree programs in Singapore.

How Can I Apply for the Asean Scholarship in Singapore

Candidates will be assessed and selected for interviews as part of their application for admission to NUS. There is no need for a separate scholarship application.

The process is as follows:

1. Begin by applying for admission to the university.

2. Following your admission application, you should then focus on your scholarship application.

3. If you are shortlisted, you will be invited for an interview.

Applicants to NUS will automatically be considered for shortlisting based on their admission application.

Shortlisted candidates will receive notifications by June 30th of the year of their admission.
