Scholarship details
This scholarship is fully powered by the Australian Government targeted to attract suitable and eligible African Students from the selected African Countries to train them on enlisted programs or courses, with the expectations that the awarded students, on the completion of their programs, will return back to their respective native lands to contribute to their countries’ development.
This program is of two categories, which are Australian Awards Scholarship for Masters for selected African Students to undertake in higher degree studies in Australia at Masters Level, and Australian Award Scholarship for Short Courses, to undertake short ranged and professional training on selected disciplines in targeted fields, to be undergone in Australian or African Universities, offered since 1980.

Australia Awards Masters Scholarships closes on 6th of December 2019, while
Australia Awards Short Courses Scholarships closes on 17th of January 2020.

Eligible Countries:
Not all African countries are eligible for these scholarships, but the eligible countries include Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia, Seychelles, Tunisia, Togo, Tanzania, Swaziland, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Cameroun, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Namibia, Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Comoros, Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Lesotho, Libya, Sao Tome and Principle, Senegal etc.
Priority fields;
This varies according to the each country, the courses to be enrolled in include Education, Health, Public Policy (including public sector management, Natural Resource Management (including mining related subjects), public sector reform, Technical and Vocational Education, trade, international diplomacy) & Training (available for Short Courses only), Energy (including Natural Gas and Oil Technology), Infrastructure, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Transport (including Ports, Roads and Airports Management).
Eligibility:
Eligibility for either of the scholarships is subject to individual eligible country’s requirements and sort, but the general eligibility criteria are as follow;
- Applicant must be a national of one of the listed eligible countries.
- Must have at least Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
iii. Must be a mid or senior level employee of public or private organization with required post graduate work experience.
- Must show the potential and capacity to utilize the knowledge gained during the course of the scholarship towards the development of his home country.
- Must be proficient in English Language.
Value of the scholarships:
They are both fully government sponsored scholarships, all the cost from start to end of all the programs will be footed by Australian Government.
