British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN), in conjunction with British American Tobacco Iseyin Agronomy (BATIA), offers scholarship opportunities for qualified Nigerian undergraduates.
The scholarship program is one of the corporate social responsibility initiatives to promote the development of skilled labor in the agricultural sector in Nigeria.
In 2005, the scope of the Scholarship Plan was expanded to include eligible students from across the country.
This expansion was based on stakeholder expectations raised in a stakeholder dialogue session.
Ten eligible students receive scholarships each year for the duration of their study, with five slots reserved for eligible children of BAT-registered tobacco farmers.
In the event that the children of the farmers do not meet the eligibility requirements, those five slots are opened to candidates from the tobacco leaf-producing communities (not the children of the farmers).
In the event that they also do not meet the eligibility requirements, the five slots are open to candidates from other parts of Oyo State.
However, students who are children of BAT-registered tobacco farmers now have the opportunity to apply for courses other than Agriculture.
LEVEL / FIELD OF STUDY:
BATIA) Undergraduate Scholarship is for individuals pursuing an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in fields of study other than agriculture.
Host Nationality:
All the scholarships are taken in the UK.
Eligible Nationality:
- Qualified applicants who are children of BAT-registered tobacco farmers.
- Other qualified candidates from all over Nigeria. In addition to the BATN/BATIA scholarship, there are other scholarships available for international students to study abroad.

The benefits of the scholarship involve free sponsorship throughout undergraduate studies.

Eligibility for BAT Scholarships
- All applicants must be Nigerian citizens over the age of 18.
- For the children of BAT registered tobacco farmers: admission to study or a first-year matriculated student studying a course at a tertiary institution in Nigeria.
- For other applicants in Nigeria: admission to study or matriculated freshman studying agriculture/agriculture-related courses at a Nigerian tertiary institution
- Holders of the SSCE or its equivalent with at least six subjects passed in one session.

Important points to note

About Cascadia College
Cascadia College is an American Community Funding for International Programs in Bothell, Washington, on a shared campus with the University of Washington Bothell.
We are intentionally working to promote the community in Cascadia. It begins, of course, in our classrooms, offices, and hallways. Running along the waterfront that links Cascadia to the University of Washington Bothell, with which we share our beautiful 128-acre campus. Scholarships are available for Postgraduate studies. Scholarships will be awarded to study the subjects proposed by the University, as follows:
Biological/ Medical Sciences, Mathematics/Economics, Human Services, Psychology , General Sciences, Human Rights and Global Studies, Engineering, Business, General Studies.
Host Nationality

Eligible Nationality

Scholarship Value
The number of scholarships available is up to 7 with the benefit of $1,500 annually. New Student Scholarships represent a one-time payment of $1,000 and Current Student Scholarships a one-time payment of $500.
Eligibility
Scholarships for new students
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Applicants must be new international students on an F-1 visa, who have been accepted to Cascadia but are not yet enrolled in courses.
- All Cascadia students, regardless of nationality or immigration status, are encouraged to apply.
Scholarships for Current Students
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Applicants must be international F-1 students who have completed at least a quarter of the courses at Cascadia and are enrolled during the next academic term.
- International students enrolled in ELP and/or university courses are eligible.
- Many scholarships are intended to support specific groups of students, including the first family member to attend college, veterans, LGBTQA, local school graduates. Institute , single-parent families, people with disabilities, graduate students in applied sciences and members of groups of young Masons.
- Minimum GPA: 2.0 – 3.0 depending on the scholarship.

- Personal Statement: On a separate sheet of paper, answer the following question: (500 word maximum)

Scholarships for current students
To apply for the Global Achievement Scholarships, please submit the following:
- Completed Application Form: Please write carefully and be sure to answer all questions.
- Personal Statement: On a separate sheet of paper, answer the following question: (500 word maximum)
“What is important that you have learned or discovered as a Cascadia student and how can you use this new learning or discovery in your future?” - Two Recommendations (2): Please use the attached recommendation forms. At least one referral form must be completed by a Cascadia teacher.

If you are selected for an interview, the interview date and time will be emailed to you no later than four weeks after you apply. Postponement of interviews is not permitted.
Recipients and non-recipients will be notified of the results of their application by mail to the address indicated on their application.
