Scholarship details
In an attempt to assist student-athletes from Jefferson High School in their road to college, the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois is pleased to offer the Buster Lindsay Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established in memory of Buster Lindsay, a resident of the community who served everybody with his passion in athletics, academics, and service.
The scholarship is open to graduating seniors from Jefferson High School who have participated in a sports team for at least 3 years. The student must also have a GPA of 2.5 or 4.0 and planning to attend a college or university in a 2-year or a 4-year course in any field.
Aside from the online application process, the applicant must also submit an essay discussing academic and athletic achievements. The essay may also include other personal achievements, obstacles the applicant has overcome, and extracurricular involvement such as community service.
