Founded in 1920, Swansea University is one of the most reputable universities in the UK. Swansea University is a UK top 30 institution for research excellence (Research Excellence Framework 2014). Swansea University has been named as Welsh University of the Year 2017 by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide.

This research will include the understanding of the polymer-metal synergy involved in the catalytic process. The aim of the project is to develop novel catalytic materials for CO2 conversion to value-added products. In particular, the successful applicant will design, prepare, and test new polymer-metal composite catalysts for the electro (photo) chemical conversion of CO2 to chemicals and carbon-based fuels.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Candidates need to have a first class or upper second class honors degree in chemistry, engineering, mathematics or science.
  • Applications are available to UK/EU and international students. However, only UK/EU fees will be covered by the studentship. International students will need to pay the split between UK/EU and international tuition fees.

The studentship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees, plus a tax-free stipend of £14,296. For research expenses, there will be available an additional £800.

How to apply:

To apply for this studentship, candidates need to send a CV and covering letter outlining their suitability for the project to Dr. Enrico Andreoli ([email protected])

Additional questions about this project are welcome and may be directed to Dr. Andreoli at the email address above or by telephone: +44 (0) 1792 60 2524
