If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might be interested in applying for the Chevening Scholarship.
The Chevening Scholarship is a global scholarship programme that is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations. The programme offers a unique opportunity for outstanding professionals from all over the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.
The scholarship covers the full tuition fees, monthly living allowance, travel costs, visa fees, and other expenses for one year of full-time study at any of the UK’s leading universities, including UEA. The scholarship also provides access to a wide range of exclusive academic, professional, and cultural events, activities, and opportunities across the UK.
The scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following criteria:
• They are citizens of a Chevening-eligible country or territory and intend to return there for a minimum of two years after their award has ended.
• They have an undergraduate degree that will enable them to gain entry to a postgraduate programme in the UK.
• They have at least two years of work experience in any sector.
• They have applied to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 15 July 2024.
• They meet the Chevening English language requirement by 15 July 2024.
To apply for the scholarship, applicants need to complete an online application form and submit supporting documents, such as academic transcripts, references, personal statement, and proof of English language proficiency. The application deadline is usually in November each year.
The applications are assessed by an independent panel of experts from the FCDO and partner organisations, who will shortlist candidates for interviews. The interviews are conducted either in person or via video conference by representatives of the British embassy or high commission in the applicant’s home country. The final selection is made by the FCDO, who will announce the winners in June each year.
