The Dart Center Ochberg Fellowship is a seminar programme for experienced and mid-career journalists who want to deepen their knowledge of emotional trauma and psychological injury and improve reporting on violence conflict, and tragedy.
As part of the fellowship, participants attend seminars organized and held at Columbia University in New York City. A range of experts walk fellows throughout the course and present journalists with issues of ethics, craft and practice. The fellowship offers myriad opportunities for participants to learn from one another.
In order to be considered for an entry to the programme, participants must have at least five years of experience working across various media. Participants must have proven their commitment to the values of good journalism through a strong track-record and extensive media coverage.
The fellowship is open to journalists from various fields of media, including digital reports, photographers, editors, and producers who have had the prerequisite work experience.
Additionally, fellows must have a working knowledge and command of English as all seminars are held in English. There are no restrictions in terms of the region an would-be fellow applies from. Application deadline expires on 22 September, 2017.
