Who Is Eligible for Dean’s Undergraduate Scholarship?

Terms and Conditions
Background:
This scholarship was established to provide assistance to international students transitioning into undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney Business School.
Eligibility:
a. Applicants should be international students commencing a university degree at the University of Sydney Business School.
b. Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification (or its equivalent) with an exceptional ATAR or equivalent.
c. Students who complete the University of Sydney Foundation Program with an overall average of 90% are also considered for this scholarship, provided they are admitted to an undergraduate degree at the Sydney Business School, University of Sydney.
Selection Criteria:
a. Academic merit is the primary basis for awarding the scholarship.
b. The scholarship will be granted by the Dean of the University of Sydney Business School or their designated representatives.
Value:
a. The scholarship is valued at $5,000 annually and is tenable for up to four years. If applicable, it includes an honors year within this timeframe.
b. The scholarship funds will be disbursed in two equal parts after the census date of each semester.
c. The scholarship cannot be deferred.
d. Transferring the scholarship to another degree program requires permission from the Dean of the initial program; this transfer does not extend the scholarship’s validity.
Continued Eligibility:
a. Recipients must enroll in at least 24 credit points each semester and maintain a Semester Average Mark (SAM) of at least 65 to continue receiving the scholarship. Fulfilling a minimum full-time load will not extend the scholarship’s duration.
b. Recipients who participate in an exchange during the scholarship tenure must achieve a Requirements Satisfied (SR) rating to receive subsequent payments.
Termination:
a. The scholarship may be terminated if the recipient:
I. Withdraws from the eligible course or do not enroll.
II. Initiates part-time study without prior approval.
III. Fails to maintain satisfactory academic performance.
IV. Engages in serious misconduct, including providing false information in the scholarship application.
V. Accepts another University-administered scholarship for the same purpose.
VI. Fails to resume studies after an approved leave period.
VII. Violates any other provision outlined in the terms, leading to termination.
b. The scholarship will not be reinstated unless due to a University error.
c. If a student is found guilty of gross misconduct or the scholarship is terminated due to the conditions mentioned in the Termination Clause, the University can request a refund of the disbursed scholarship funds.
