Scholarship details
The Faculty of Law administered by the University of Hong Kong (HKU) provides numerous opportunities for deserving students to study either at a low cost or for free through various scholarships and grants offered by the university in partnership with trusted organizations from around the world.
A notable example of these is the DLA Piper Scholarship named after DLA Piper who agreed to make a donation which leads to the establishment of the mentioned scholarship under the supervision of the Law Faculty.
Beneficiaries of the said program (can be a student who is currently at third-year LL.B or a fourth-year student pursuing any mixed degree programs under the Faculty of Law) are awarded with cash support worth HK$20,000 or around $2563 USD each year. The following criteria serve as the basis of selection of the scholars:
- Academic performance (an applicant must obtain a cumulative GPA not less than 3.1 in the first semester during his/her third/fourth year of study)
- Other notable qualities but not limited to leadership skills and overall personality
- Result of the applicant’s interview
- Approval of the trainee contract starting in August all throughout the scholars’ completion of the PCCL program)
