The Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) has established a program to offer scholarships to international students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. The scholarship program is available to students who have completed at least two semesters of study in a Bachelor’s degree program or at least one semester in a Master’s degree program at HAW Hamburg. Scholarship Eligibility
Interested applicants must meet the eligibility of the scholarship before proceeding with the application.
- The applicants must be classified as an international students at HAW Hamburg
- Must be able to obtain a higher education entrance qualification globally or have successfully completed their preparatory studies in Germany.
- Must completed their bachelors degree in two semesters
- The applicants must not be a recipient of any government funding’s in Germany
- Meet the average grade of 2.2
- Must have a good communication skills in oral and written English. Must meet the language requirements of the university.
- Must be able to demonstrate their academic skills.
- Interested in Applied Science fields.
Application Process
The application can be completed in an online portal provided by the university. The masters degree students who already received the excellence scholarship awards during the bachelors degree are also required to submit the application and two recommendation letters.
Materials Required
As part of the application process, the students must submit the following to better support their application.
- Certificate of Enrolment
- CV maximum of two pages
- Transcript of records
- Copy of residency permits
- Letter of recommendations
- Bank account information
- Financial circumstances forms
Once application is completed the applicants can upload it to the online portal provided by the university before the deadline. Keep in mind that all late and incomplete application will not be considered, so the applicants must allow such time to complete all the materials and the application. The university will inform the outcome of the application four weeks after the deadline of application.
Scholarship Awards
The Haw Hamburg University of Applied Science Excellence Scholarship Awards will be amounting to up to €1,800 and will be granted to the successful students for one semester.
All successful students must be able to read and agree to the terms and conditions applied to the scholarship. If you are receiving another scholarship from any other institutions or Government Funding’s, the scholarship will be forfeited.
The scholars are required to maintain a good academic standings to be able to receive the scholarship awards to the next semester.
Application Deadline
The deadline to complete and submit the application is until September 30, 2023 for the Winter Semester.
