About the Scholarship Provider:

Among the most cutting-edge schools in Spain. Thirty thousand eager learners at a Mediterranean campus with stunning scenery. There are almost 2,000 annual students from other countries. Over 300 bilateral treaties of mutual recognition and exchange with over 50 nations.  A sustainable campus of roughly a million square meters’ worth, located less than 15 minutes from the heart of the city and the beach. There were 48 BAs awarded. There are 55 graduate-level studies available. There are a total of 28 PhD Programs available. The departments of Economics, Chemical Engineering, Health Sciences, Tourism and Hospitality, Social Work, and English Studies at UA are all among the country’s top five. There are over 200 classes that are entirely in English.

The school is proud of its multilingual status and its efforts to become truly global. Almost all courses are taught in Spanish, but there is an English-taught computer science and business graduate program, a graduate economics program, and a few PhD courses offered in Valencian. Languages other than English and French are also taught alongside these cultural pursuits. You can take Spanish classes all year long, even during the summer. The university has reused its pavilions and added modern buildings to the 1 km2 modern Campus of San Vicente del Raspeig, which was built on the grounds of an airport in the 1930s.

Many seminaries, conferences, and other academic gatherings take place in historic university buildings scattered over the province of Alicante. Next to the main campus, the Science Park of Alicante was constructed in 2006 with the goal of fostering collaboration between the university, other research institutions, and businesses in order to facilitate the transfer of technology. Ignacio Fornés Olmo, better known by his stage name Nach, is widely regarded as one of the world’s top Spanish-speaking rappers, and he is just one of many outstanding UA alumni. Many former pupils have gone on to prominent political careers, including the 1980s mayor of Alicante, José Luis Lassaletta.
